Parent Newsletter
FIRST DAY ONLY & August 2026
Notes from the Principal
Your child is going to have an amazing year! If you have any needs or questions, please call the office 903-881-4350 or come see us.
FIRST DAY ONLY
Doors open at 7:25am. On the first day of school only, parents may walk their child to the cafeteria. Please drop your child off at the cafeteria door, say your goodbyes and exit quickly to help with any separation anxiety. Starting the second day, parents may drop students off under the front awning or drop off in the car line, but are not permitted inside the building unless you need something form the office. Please notice LISD's different pick up times for the first day only (below). This helps with the tremendous amount of traffic in Lindale on the first day of school.
CSE siblings
If you have a 3rd grader that has a 1st or 2nd grade sibling at College Street and they are car riders, you will need to get in the 3rd grade car line only. You will pick up all your children in the 3rd grade line. Please let the teachers know about campus siblings.
Perfect attendance rules
Students must have zero absences and less than three tardies to qualify for perfect attendance each six weeks, semester, and for the year. We will have special celebrations for our perfect attendance students!
Dress & hair code
Check the LISD Elementary Student PK-3 Dress Code (below) before the school year begins. Please note that students who are not in hair code on the first day of school will not be allowed to start until hair is in code.
Beginning of the year tip
Your student will come home more tired than usual. This is normal! In time, they will adjust to their new schedule and the demands of school. I want to encourage you to cheer on your child! A routine of an early bedtime and a healthy breakfast gives your child the stamina they need for a great day. Our doors open at 7:25 and all students are welcome to eat breakfast at school. See the price chart below for the cost of breakfast and lunch.
Kona Ice
Please consider doing a "PAY IT FORWARD" this year for a student who otherwise would not receive a Kona Ice treat. I would love for all CSE students to get a Kona Ice each month! You can pay it forward each month, or do a SEASON PASS for another student by adding "2" to your cart during checkout.
Thank You,
Connie Forsyth
Principal

PICK UP & DROP OFF PROCEDURES
Morning drop-off - Doors open at 7:25am
Parents are encouraged to drop off in our car line in the mornings. You may also park across the street and walk your child to the front sidewalk.
Afternoon pick-up
Please have your car tag visible throughout the afternoon car rider line. If you do not have your car tag, you will be asked to park in the front parking lot and enter the office with a valid ID. Walk-up pickups are only allowed on an emergency or appointment basis (doctor appointment, etc). These end at 2:30.
Tardies- Daily attendance is an essential part of your child being successful in school. All students should be at school on time daily. Any student arriving after 8:05 will be marked tardy. Tardies should not be a regular occurrence. Teachers begin their instruction at 8:05. We ask for your cooperation and assistance in maintaining a classroom environment conducive to the development of good study habits and uninterrupted academic instruction.
Transportation- It is important that your child maintain a consistent afternoon dismissal routine. Changes in afternoon transportation must be made by NOON. Call the school office at 903-881-4350. ONLY legal guardians may request transportation changes. The caller will be asked various questions to validate identity and relationship to the child.
