🍬 A big thank-you to our City Council members for donating candy to Riverside Elementary! We also thank our parents, Ms. Rios for coordinating candy donations from Dollar Tree and Ms. Monarez for volunteering her time during Field Day.

Our Cobras are diving into the wonderful world of novels, and our amazing teachers are taking learning beyond the pages of a book! 📖

Through creative projects, hands-on activities, and carefully planned field trips aligned to the novels students are reading, our teachers are helping students make meaningful real-world connections to literature!

Thank you, Cobra families! Our Raising Cane’s fundraiser raised $200 for Riverside Elementary! We appreciate everyone who stopped by and supported our school. Every bit makes a difference!

Your child's Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ contain decodable books with a QR code on each book that links to a phonics video in up to 14 languages. The activities in this guide are organized around the five essential components of reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Once you know which area(s) your child needs the most help in, focus on those sections first — but spending time in all five areas is encouraged, because skilled reading requires strength in all of them. All the activities in this guide require no special materials or preparation. They use everyday conversations, books from your child's Take-Everywhere Literacy Pack™, and simple games you can play anywhere — at home, in the car, or waiting in line. We are proud to partner with your family on this journey. Please reach out to your child's teacher with any questions.

❤️ A huge shout-out to Ms. Palacios, our new counselor, for all the hard work and care she put into organizing Red Ribbon Week at RSE!

Highlights included Mamasitas Cyberneticas reading to our kindergarten students and a trip to the Mesilla Valley Pumpkin Patch for our 4th–6th graders. 🎃📚

We did it again! Riverside Elementary has earned the Spotlight School designation for the third consecutive year! This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, staff, families, and district. Together, we are building our legacy of excellence—three years strong!

¡Lo logramos de nuevo! ¡Riverside Elementary ha recibido la designación de Escuela Destacada por tercer año consecutivo! Este logro refleja la dedicación de nuestros estudiantes, personal, familias y distrito. Juntos, seguimos construyendo nuestro legado de excelencia: ¡tres años consecutivos!

As we look forward to upcoming school activities, we ask families to talk with their children about respectful language, personal boundaries, privacy, and making safe choices online and at school. Remind your child to tell a trusted adult if they see or experience something that makes them uncomfortable.

For younger children especially, please stay involved in what they watch, search for, and share on phones and other devices. Consider whether your child is ready for independent access to apps and social media, and review the content and privacy settings on the devices they use.

Special activities are privileges. Students who do not follow the Cobra Way may lose a privilege, and behavior that raises a safety concern may affect their participation in an activity. We will communicate with families about these decisions.

Thank you for reinforcing the Cobra Way at home: make good decisions, solve problems, show respect, and lead by example. Your partnership helps keep Riverside safe and welcoming for everyone.

Juntos apoyamos el Camino Cobra

Mientras esperamos con entusiasmo las próximas actividades escolares, pedimos a las familias que hablen con sus hijos sobre el lenguaje respetuoso, los límites personales, la privacidad y las decisiones seguras en línea y en la escuela. Recuérdenles que deben hablar con un adulto de confianza si ven o experimentan algo que les incomoda.

Especialmente con los niños más pequeños, les pedimos que estén al tanto de lo que ven, buscan y comparten en los teléfonos y otros dispositivos. Consideren si sus hijos están preparados para usar aplicaciones y redes sociales de forma independiente, y revisen el contenido y la configuración de privacidad de los dispositivos que utilizan.

WIN Weekly Intervention is Riverside’s weekly intervention and enrichment program designed to give every student what they need to succeed. Students receive targeted academic support or participate in engaging enrichment opportunities that strengthen their skills, creativity, confidence, and love of learning.

WIN (Intervención Semanal) es el programa de intervención y enriquecimiento de Riverside, diseñado para brindar a cada estudiante lo que necesita para tener éxito. Los estudiantes reciben apoyo académico específico o participan en actividades de enriquecimiento que fortalecen sus habilidades, creatividad, confianza y amor por el aprendizaje.

We are excited to announce our WIN Wednesday enrichment lineup! Riverside students will have the opportunity to explore Art Fusion, Music and Movement, Golf, and Speed Chess. We cannot wait to see our Cobras discover new interests, build new skills, and have fun learning!

Our students had the opportunity to shop at the Cobra Store today using their hard-earned Cobra Bucks! Students receive one Cobra Buck for each day they are present at school. It was wonderful to see them excitedly spending their rewards. Every day at school counts!

Although Riverside is generally a cashless campus, we will accept cash this year for Goodie Sales and Free Dress days.

Students with a remaining balance on their Cobra Card may continue using those funds. The card will be given to your child’s current teacher. Once the balance has been used, you will be notified so your child may bring cash for future purchases
