Thomas Community Newsletter
April 16, 2026
Dear TMS Community,
It’s a busy and exciting spring season at TMS! We invite each family to support our AHC PTA “Pack the Piggies” fundraiser by sending your child to school with 100 pennies, 4 quarters, 10 dimes, or a dollar bill—just $1 per student. This small act makes a big difference, and we appreciate your support in helping our school community thrive!
This month, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of student leadership—over 220 students volunteered to serve as leaders for our upcoming 5th-grade student and parent tours, 6th-grade orientation and 6th-8th grade locker set-up on August 14, 2026 (save this date!). This level of enthusiasm and willingness to give back is truly remarkable and speaks volumes about the character of our students.
Last week, our 7th-grade students participated in outdoor education at Sunrise Lake, where they focused on building teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. It was a fantastic experience, and both students and staff had a blast learning and growing together outside the classroom.
In addition, we have more than 60 students who have been working for months preparing an amazing production of High School Musical. Their dedication, creativity, and teamwork are sure to result in a spectacular show, and we warmly invite all members of our community to come and enjoy the performance. We are also proud to have 45+ students advancing to the Science Olympiad state competition, as well as our All-Star student-athletes representing our school in Special Olympics—both wonderful examples of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance.

Each day, students are encouraged to bring in their pennies. Each penny that they add to the PACK jar is equal to a point. Please help your child do their best by ensuring they:
- Get they a good night’s sleep and have a healthy breakfast
- Arrive to school on time so they can feel calm and settled before testing begins
- Feel prepared with a charged Chromebook
- Have a positive mindset—remind your child to simply do their best
- Feel confident —let them know the test is just one way to show what they’ve learned
Your support at home goes a long way in helping your child have a positive testing experience.

Safety Drills Practice This Week
We will be conducting a practice safety drill in the coming days as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety. These drills help ensure that all students and staff are familiar with procedures and can respond quickly and calmly in the event of an emergency. We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of taking these drills seriously.
