On behalf of the Egg Harbor Township School District we would like to take this opportunity to reflect and thank those who have served our country. On this day we remember and honor the sacrifices of the hundreds of men and women who gave their lives for the country.

Students in Miss Merryman's 7th grade honors algebra class created images using function transformations. Students used linear, quadratic, exponential, square root, and absolute value functions with domains and ranges.

Students in Miss Merryman's 6th grade pre-algebra explored the difference between experimental and theoretical probability using decks of cards, dice, number blocks, and colored cards.

Fernwood eSports are the State Champions!

This past Saturday, May 20th at Stockton University, Garden State eSports gathered Middle and High School eSports teams from across New Jersey to compete for the title of champion in their respective game. The Fernwood Middle School team consisting of Bryan (government) Daniel Perez, Liam (Liam) Varela, and Jaz (SnS) Steed, beat Bayshore Middle School in Doubles Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on stage in front of hundreds of attendees and streaming live on the GSE Twitch Channel to become the New Jersey State Smash Bros Champions.. Besides becoming champions, they went undefeated the entire season, finishing with an amazing record of (10-0). Alongside our champions on stage, 8th grader Willie "Starboy" Feliciano made his professional broadcast debut on Twitch as he commentated on both the Middle and High School Smash Bros. Finals alongside longtime GSE commentator "Hampolo."

Coaches Brian Costello and Joon Lee are thankful for all the families, friends, and administrators for making the trip to Stockton University to watch our team take the title and become recognized as the best Middle School Smash Bros. Team in the entire state! They are also thankful for all the Fernwood staff and students for supporting their efforts in helping to grow the eSports Club to become State Champions at Fernwood Middle School!

On Monday, May 22, members of the Honors 7 and Honors 8 French classes visited the Slaybaugh Swift Complex to take part in Snacks and Storytime 2023, which was sponsored by an EHTEA Pride Grant. The French students prepared a read aloud of a French book, posters and word mats for the Miller students to use to follow along, and a craft associated with their book for each student to make together and bring home. The Slaybaugh and Swift students even learned enough French to present their craft to their groups! The sessions concluded with a goodie bag of snacks and stickers. It was a wonderful day for all 600 students involved!

This past Monday was our Spring Band Concert. It was a wonderful evening filled with beautiful music. Amazing job by all!
