Hello Families Hello Families

I'm excited to expand the work of our Student-Superintendent Leadership Team (SSLT).

This team of students from Stanwood High and Lincoln Hill High provides input, advice, and perspective on how well the district is serving students at the secondary level.

For the 2023-2024 school year, the SSLT will be focusing on three topics:

  1. Safety: physical, social, and emotional
  2. Trusting Adult Relationships: building trust with staff in service of student well-being and achievement
  3. Inclusion: establishing no tolerance for bullying, discrimination, racism, or other harmful practices

The students on the SSLT represent a cross-section of our community; some have parents who are staff in the district, and all are strong advocates for what it means to be a Spartan or a Lynx.

We are extending an invitation to add more members to the existing team next month. If your high school student is interested in joining, please share this link with your student to apply. All high school students will also receive this link and message in their school email accounts.

Help us foster community connections Help us foster community connections

You or someone you know may be able to offer much-needed support to our young adults with unique needs as they transition into the workforce!

The Stanwood-Camano School District's Adult Transition Program provides students with a variety of services — but we also seek on-job training and internship opportunities in local businesses.

This real-world work experience is an essential ingredient for a successful transition to adulthood for our young adults in special education. Your participation will help students learn valuable skills and gain confidence.

The Stanwood-Camano School District follows the COVID-19 guidance for schools and child care from the Washington Department of Health.

We adhere to infectious disease prevention strategies as part of everyday operations, and we are prepared to implement additional disease prevention strategies if there is an outbreak of any respiratory illnesses, including flu and RSV.

The current emphasis is on students or staff staying home when sick. Please view our When to Stay Home webpage for more details about what symptoms to monitor. The webpage also includes the state Department of Health’s updated guidance on making decisions around COVID exposure and symptoms.
