Get to Know Ms. O'Neil
I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Wasco community! While our building is still undergoing some construction, we’re looking forward to welcoming staff back in the coming days as they begin preparing their classrooms for a brand-new group of learners.
We’re pleased to once again host our School Supply Drop-Off on Monday, August 11, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Please see the flyer below for more details.
Although August 11 is the first official day for certified staff, we want to reassure you that all learning spaces will be ready and welcoming for students on the first day of school—Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
To help you get to know me a bit better, I’ve created a few fun clues that your family can try to solve. The answers will be posted in our Community Room during supply drop-off. I hope you’ll stop by so we can meet in person. I look forward to connecting with you in the upcoming weeks.
Ms. Christine O'Neil, Principal
Communication Practices - What to Expect
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I want to share how we’ll keep you informed about all things related to Wasco and District 303. Starting this year, you can expect a communication every Monday at 9:00 am.
-
On alternating weeks, messages will either focus on school-specific updates and reminders or highlight district-level learning and opportunities.
-
In addition to email communication, we will also post updates on our school website and Facebook page.
-
You can also count on regular, consistent communication from your child’s teacher throughout the year.
We’re excited to begin this journey with you and are committed to partnering with you in support of your child’s education.

Please make sure you communicate any transportation changes to your child's classroom teacher so that we can get your child/children safely to their destination.
Safety & Security
At Wasco safety and security is a top priority. Here are ways we keep students and staff safe:
- All exterior doors are locked during our instructional day
- All visitors must sign in at the front office before gaining access to the building
- Volunteers must have complete finger printing in order to work with students outside of our classrooms.
- Training is provided to our Lunchroom supervisors so that they understand all school procedures and protocols.
Classroom Assignments and Transportation Information
District 303 parents and guardians use Home Access Center (HAC) to access their child’s grades,
schedule, transportation, and attendance information in a password protected environment.
Class assignments will be posted on August 1, 2025 at 8:00am.
Transportation routes will be posted on August 6, 2025 at 12:00pm
Preparing for the School Year
1. Start Routines Early
Begin re-establishing school-year routines at least 1–2 weeks before school starts. Set regular bedtimes, lay out clothes the night before, and practice waking up at school-day hours.
2. Practice Lunchtime Timing
Encourage your child to eat meals or snacks within a 20-minute window to help them adjust to typical school lunch periods.
3. Refresh Independence Skills
Have your child practice tasks they’ll need at school like packing their backpack, opening containers, tying shoes, or organizing their supplies to build confidence and independence.
4. Reintroduce Learning Habits
Ease back into academic routines with short reading sessions, writing practice, or fun learning games. This helps shift the mindset from summer break to school ready.
5. Talk About Feelings & Expectations
Create space to talk about your child’s excitement or worries. Visit the school if possible, talk through the daily routine, and reassure them that it's okay to feel nervous or excited about the year ahead.
