Both the Varsity Winter Guard and the Junior Varsity Winter Guard had a wonderful 2017 performance season. Congratulations to all performers on representing yourselves, AEB, and Akins with class, dignity, and excellence!

William Pitts, composer of Auguries of Innocence worked with the Akins Wind Symphony on his piece last week. It is the first time he has worked on this piece with a high school group in the United States!

Please stay on top of your band balances.

As we look ahead to 2017-2018, no student will be permitted to register for Band in 2017-2018 if there is an outstanding balance.

Contact Mr. Fincher if you have questions about your current balance.

Did you know that you can work shifts at the UT Erwin Center to earn money for your fees, trip payments, and lessons? Each shift pays $35 to $75 per person depending on the event and business.

There are always shifts available and we are already needing people to work!
