🚍 Welcome Aboard the Energy Bus! – A Positive Start to an Incredible Year

We are thrilled to welcome your child to an exciting new school year filled with positivity, purpose, and powerful learning! This year, our school-wide theme is “Driven by Purpose, Fueled by Positivity: Learning with Purpose, Connecting with Heart!” inspired by The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon.

Our goal is to build strong relationships with every student and provide a strong foundation for academic and social-emotional success. Each student is the driver of their own learning journey, and we are here to support and fuel them with encouragement, structure, and joy every step of the way.

Throughout the year, we’ll focus on:

• Creating a safe and welcoming space for every learner

As we gear up for the new school year, we want to ensure you have all the necessary information to start the year off smoothly. Please take note of the following important details:

The first day of school for all students will be on Monday, August 4th. Please mark your calendars and make sure your child is ready for an exciting start to the academic year.

We ask that students arrive at school no later than 7:55 so they can enjoy eating breakfast in the classroom with their peers. The front gates will open at 7:35 and close at 3:15 and reopen at 3:25. This is to ensure all students are in their designated pick up area without the any additional traffic. The back gates on San Jose Ave. will open at 7:35 and close at 8:00.

Instruction begins at 8:15 AM and dismissal is at 3:25 PM. (On early release days students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM)

Felicia Wilkinson

Moreno Elementary is proud to introduce Ms. Felicia Wilkinson as our new Assistant Principal! With 23 years of experience in education, Ms. Wilkinson brings a strong foundation in Special Education and Early Childhood Education to our school community.

Throughout her career, she has been a passionate advocate for inclusive learning and academic development. Her dedication to student growth and her collaborative spirit make her a wonderful addition to the Moreno team.

Ms. Wilkinson shared,

“I’m truly excited to join the Moreno Elementary family. I look forward to working closely with our students, families, and staff to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment for all.”

All our students will receive free school supplies to be used in the classroom. You only need to provide your child with a backpack with no wheels and headphones.

July 31: Back to School Fiesta at Austin High School 6:00 to 7:30

August 1: Meet the Teacher 2:00 to 5:00

August 4: First day of School

August 21: Fall Pictures (Dress up for Pictures)

September 1: No School- Labor Day

If your child will be absent, a note must be provided in order to have the absence excused. Phone calls will no longer be accepted. Any absent with out a note will be marked as unexcused.
