Helpful Tips From Your School Psychologist
Self-Care for Kids!
Self-care is when you take time to do things that make your mind feel happy and your body feel calm. Here are a few ideas to start!
1. Take a break. Five minutes can change your perspective.
2. Do your favorite things
3. Learn to relax. Try taking a deep breath!
4. Take care of your body. Did you get enough sleep?
5. Be around people you enjoy.
6. Share your feelings. Talk to an adult you trust about how you feel!
At Century Elementary, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. Our mission for this fundraising initiative, βJust Porch Itβ is to enhance our educational programs and provide enriching experiences for every student. With your donations, we aim to acquire new resources, facilitate engaging extracurricular activities, and foster a nurturing environment where our children can thrive. Together, we can build a brighter future, empowering our students with the tools they need to succeed. Join us in this exciting journey to make a meaningful impact and celebrate the spirit of giving within our remarkable Century community!
This is our new pathway to donate all unclaimed lost and found items and get paid for it! We also can take donations of items from our community as well as anyone else locally. You just go to the JUST PORCH IT website, fill out the submission form, say you want to donate to Century, and they will come pick it up at your home. Our PTC will get a check each month! Birthday Wishes for Your Child on the Century Marquee!!
The Birthday Marquee is available for families to recognize their child's birthday! Help celebrate your child's birthday by wishing him/her a Happy Birthday on the school's marquee. Birthday wishes will be posted for a week. Sign up and pay $20 online.
Click on the picture or the link below to sign up!
It's never too late to signup. Parent requests are checked weekly and as soon as the birthday date is uploaded and paid for, the marquee will be updated within the week.
The Century PTC sponsors the Birthday Book Club for the library. Any student who would like to participate may come to the library and purchase a book from a selection to donate to our Century library. This program has been very exciting for the students at Century. They enjoy being the first to check out their book, seeing their pictures on the birthday wall, and checking out books that have been donated by their friends.
In recognition of your donation, a label will be placed inside the front of the book, we will add your picture to our birthday wall in the library, and your donation will be acknowledged during morning announcements. At the end of each month, the names of students who participated in the Birthday Book Club will be printed in the Century Bulletin.
We will send a reminder about the Birthday Club to students the month of their birthday. This program is voluntary. If you have any questions please call Mrs. Cordova in the library at (559) 327-8482.
