Dear Families and Friends,

We continue to pray for peace in our nation and our world with all of the recent tragedies in the news and as we remembered 9/11/2001, Patriot Day. Peace begins with us...in our homes and families, in our schools and communities and in our parishes. When we learn to cultivate peace in these places, it spills out into other places and spheres of influence in our lives. Let us model the Saints and martyrs who have gone before us and become 'instruments of peace' in our world.

Our Back to School Picnic was a great success with over 100 persons in attendance. Thank you all for your delicious foods, great fellowship and your ongoing support of our school.

FARM to SCHOOL Lunch is off to a great start. Green envelopes are sent home weekly. Thank you to families who paid for the month and made selections. This helps in our planning. Please turn in money and orders each MONDAY if you don't choose the monthly option. Student cost is $3.25 and includes Cream Cup Dairy milk or drinkable yogurt. Adult meals are $4.00.

Good luck to our students who are participating in local sport teams, dance, and other extracurricular activities. Enjoy the challenge of honing your talents, teamwork with others, and good sportsmanship!

St. Simon Applefest is coming up quickly. Watch the parish bulletin and website for updates and volunteer needs. Support our parish, who in turn, supports LAC. Don't forget to purchase your raffle tickets too!

Note: Our next two 'Mass' dates have been changed to Communion Services while Fr. Wayne is on vacation. We welcome Deacon Len as our leader and homilist.

I've attached the 'Grandparents/Grandfriends' Invitation again. We look forward to celebrating these special leaders in our families!

Prayer for Peace Prayer for Peace

Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:6-7

A Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the true King of peace.
In You alone is found freedom.

Please free our world from conflict.
Bring unity to troubled nations.
Let Your glorious peace reign in every heart.

Dispel all darkness and evil.
Protect the dignity of every human life.
Replace hatred with Your love.

Give wisdom to world leaders.
Free them from selfish ambition.
Eliminate all violence and war.

Glorious Virgin Mary,
Saint Michael the Archangel,
Every angel and saint:
Please pray for peace.
Pray for unity amongst nations.
Pray for unity amongst all people.
Pray for the most vulnerable.
Pray for those suffering.
Pray for the fearful.
Pray for those most in need.
Pray for us all.

Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us.
Jesus, hear our prayers.
Jesus, I trust in You!

Amen.
