Our mural artwork began this week! Students and staff all had the opportunity to throw paint filled water balloons at the wall in order to create the background for the mural design. Our artist, Ursula Barton, then worked on the art design during the remainder of the week to create the final masterpiece! We love having some vibrant color in that hallway - a huge thank you to our families as this project was possible from the money raised at the carnival! An additional thank you to PAC for helping to organize and run the schedule this week! They were instrumental in ensuring our hallway was prepped and ready, balloons were filled, and kids knew what to do!

If you plan to move over the summer, or have already made a move, please let the office know as soon as possible. As we are starting to think about class sizes for next fall, it’s very important that we know if your child(ren) will be attending school at Hawks View. Any end of year mailings will be returned to the office if we do not have your correct address.

A huge thank you to our fabulous PAC, volunteers, sponsors and staff for another fantastic carnival! And as always, a big thank you to our families for your support. The carnival was a huge success and we enjoyed seeing so many happy faces throughout the evening!

We need help! We still have a few open slots this next week to help out while students shop during their library time. Please find available days and times on the Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet below. You must have a cleared background check prior to volunteering. Thank you for your support!

Our health room is in need of gently used pants (sweatpants preferred) in assorted sizes for both boys and girls. If you happen to be cleaning out closets, please keep us in mind. If your student has borrowed clothing from the health room, please launder and return as soon as possible, so that we have clothing available for other students that may need to change. Thank you!

Each Spring, we give parents an opportunity for input regarding their child’s placement for the next school year. This is not a place to request teachers, as teacher assignments aren’t finalized at this point. As your child’s caregiver, you provide valuable information and insight and we’ll take your thoughts into consideration. We do our best to create balanced classes and cannot accommodate every request that is asked of us. With about 500 students, you can imagine placement is a very long, thoughtful process. The input form will be available until Sunday, May 12th.

Carnival Update ~ Our carnival was a hit, thanks to you! With your support, we raised $20,000 for our Mural project. Big thanks to all who participated, volunteered, and supported us. Together, we're making our community brighter!
