KUDOS
Congratulations to the OHS Forensics Team at State!
The OHS Forensics team ended the season with a very fun and memorable time at the State Tournament on the UW Madison campus on Friday, April 11. The team brought home 6 gold medals (perfect scores of 25!) and a silver medal! More importantly, we brought home an awesome memory, deeper friendships, and growth in confidence! Can’t wait for next season!
Protein Power: Cooking with Eggs
Did you know there are over 100 ways to cook an egg? Students in Mrs. Morse’s Food for Life class are exploring the role of protein in a healthy diet. As part of their lesson, they headed to the food lab to prepare eggs using their favorite methods — and the results were a hit with everyone!
Innovation In A Box
Students in Mrs. Miller’s UWO CAPP Speech class showcased their creativity during a small group communication project. Each group was challenged to invent a unique product using a selection of random items from a mystery box. They had to name their product, explain how it worked, and present a sales pitch to the rest of the class. The results were imaginative, engaging, and full of fun!
SOS Summit
On Friday April 11th, representatives from the Omro High School Sources of Strength program went to the Mental Wellness Student Leadership Summit in Madison. Peer Leaders and Adult Advisors were able to network with leaders from other suicide prevention programs from across the state. Leaders from other schools were very impressed with our robust Source of Strength program and our Peer Leaders did an amazing job sharing our successes. We came back inspired with fun activities to implement next year.
Expressing Identity: Sophomores Present 'Me Posters'
In Mrs. Miller's English 10 class, the sophomore students worked on their "Me Posters." They cut out pictures, words, and symbols representing their likes and dislikes. After filling their posters completely, each student prepared a speech to present to the class.
Here, students are shown proudly displaying their completed posters.
Omro Track Takes 2nd at Cold Vike Invite
The Omro High School track and field team had a strong showing at the Cold Vike Invite held at Denmark High School on April 11, finishing in 2nd place overall. Several athletes earned top-three finishes across various events. Lucas K led the way with first-place finishes in both the 800M and 1600M. Mason H also had a standout performance, placing first in the 110M hurdles and 300M hurdles. Ralphie earned top marks in the long jump and high jump. The boys’ 4x400 relay team—Mason H, Blake H, Dylan, and Parker K—took second place, as did the girls’ 4x400 team of Charlee, Abby, Peyton, and Aaliyah L. Charlee also earned second in the 100M hurdles, and Caroline placed second in the 1600M. In third place finishes, Alex earned a spot in the 800M, while sisters Caroline and Madeline placed in the girls’ 800M and 400M, respectively, and Annabelle took third in the 300M hurdles. Oliver secured third in the pole vault, and the boys’ 4x200 team—Eli, Parker, Blake, and Ralphie—along with the 4x800 team of Alex, Ben, Blake, and Nick, also placed third. Congratulations to all the athletes on a great meet!
