LUNCH ROOM UPDATES

It is very important for us to get our students back to a normal experience during lunch again. This socialization has been greatly missed and we are ready to put our cafeteria back together as it was pre-pandemic. Starting on Monday, April 4th, students will be assigned a seat near their chosen friends, which they chose before the trimester started. We will seat students every other seat to keep some distance, but students will be able to sit across from each other at normal tables again with an assigned seat. If you would like your child to remain in an individual seat away from peers, please let us know as we want to respect everyone's personal comfort as we make this transition.

Feed My Starving Children Field Trips

We are thrilled to be able to donate time at the FMSC facility in Schaumburg again. This is a field trip we took previously and the students loved it. Due to spacing restrictions, we can only take one grade level at a time. After we volunteer in the morning, we will be having lunch at Woodfield Mall’s food court. If you do not want your child to sit near other students when they have lunch, please let us know on the permission slip you will receive closer to the dates of the trips. We need additional adult supervisors for this event, so please let me know if you can help and which date you are interested in. We will be on this trip from 8:30am - 12:15pm on the following dates:

8th Grade - Monday, May 18th

6th Grade - Tuesday, May 17th

5th Grade - Thursday, May 19th

7th Grade - Tuesday, May 24th

IAR Testing

Beginning Friday, April 8, all AMS students will be taking the state IAR tests in Reading and Math. We will test each morning until Thursday, April 14. Please make sure your child comes to school daily and on time. Please see the attached image of Dr.Martelli's letter about the testing. Thank you.

Butter Braid Fundraiser

Do you enjoy the smell of the delicious Butter Braid baking in your oven? Isn’t eating the warm cake a delightful treat? FTC is selling Butter Braids right now! Order forms were sent home at Salt Creek and Swartz, but you can create an account (https://store.myfundraisingplace.com/RegisterSeller/2dc76273-27e6-4540-aa53-27abf2663e54) and share it with friends and family. Pick-up will be on Tuesday, April 12th from 4-6 pm at Albright. Due to the quick turnaround, we are unable to accept orders and payment beyond April 5th. Please note that because the dessert is frozen, you must deliver it to your friends and family. These tasty treats are unable to be shipped. So please only share your link with local friends, family and coworkers. Questions? Please contact Kelly Irmen (kirmen@saltcreek48.org) or Jennifer Liotta (jliotta@saltcreek48.org). Happy ordering!!

FTC Monthly Meeting

Tonight (Monday, March 21st) is our monthly meeting. We will meet at Albright at 7 pm in the cafeteria. Come see how FTC supports the great schools in District 48!!

Family STEAM Night

Family STEAM Night is on Thursday, April 7th from 6:30-8:30 pm. There is science, technology, engineering, art and math fun for everyone! The Mad Science Show will begin at 7:30 pm, and there are numerous activations and activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. Bring the whole family! Please note that this is not a drop off event. A parent or guardian must stay with the students. Questions? Please email Ar-Gern Tacadena (atacadena@saltcreek48.org). Can’t wait to see you there!!

AmazonSmile

Do you shop at Amazon a lot? Did you know they offer a small percentage of eligible orders to be donated to a charity of your choice? FTC is a charity that can receive donations if account holders set it up to do so! All you have to do is shop as you normally would. If any of the items are eligible for AmazonSmile donations, FTC will receive the money that is paid out a few times per year. Even better? All of the money in turn supports our schools and children. It's a win win!

To get started from the app, go to the main menu and tap on the 'settings' icon (≡). Go to the Programs and Features heading and tap the V See all. Scroll down and tap AmazonSmile. There you will be able to search for Salt Creek School District 48 Families Teachers Children in Villa Park, IL.

If you are using the website, start your shopping at smile.amazon.com. You will be prompted to add a charity.

It's that easy! It may seem that .5% of your purchase is not a lot, but you would be surprised to see how quickly it adds up when we work together to support our great district. Thanks for helping!!

Questions? Please contact ftc@saltcreek48.org
