Rose Tree Elementary Weekly Update
September 19, 2026
Dear Rose Tree Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of our families at Back to School Night! Thank you for taking the time to visit classrooms, connect with our teachers, and learn more about the year ahead. We truly appreciate your partnership and support.
We also had some fun celebrating our students this week! We held our first Birthday Bash of the year, recognizing all of our August and September birthdays. We also celebrated our Huskies for earning an incredible 1,543 High Five Tickets for demonstrating what it means to be Ready, Respectful, and Responsible. What a great start to the year!
A quick reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 21, due to the school holiday. We look forward to welcoming our Huskies back on Tuesday!
Don’t forget that Picture Day is Thursday, September 24. Please see below for additional information and details.
We are also looking forward to one of our favorite Rose Tree traditions, Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday, October 23rd. If a grandparent or special friend is planning to attend, please be sure to RSVP. It is always a special day for our guests to spend time with their Huskies and experience a little bit of life at Rose Tree!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please take a few minutes to review the rest of this week’s newsletter for important information, reminders, and upcoming events.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Rose Tree Elementary School Picture Day
Thursday, September 24, 2026
Dear Rose Tree Families,
Picture Day at Rose Tree Elementary School will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Please review the information below carefully to ensure your child’s picture order is processed correctly.
Before Picture Day: Pre-Ordering
Shortly before Picture Day, you will receive an email from Active Image Media containing a personalized ordering link for your child.
Each student will receive their own unique link.
Please use each child’s individual link when ordering.
Do not share links between siblings or other family members.
If you have multiple children at Rose Tree, you must place a separate order using each child’s individual link.
Pre-ordering provides the best value. Pre-orders will be delivered to the school and distributed to students.
You do not need to print your receipt or send it to school. All orders are automatically submitted to Active Image Media.
Didn't Receive Your Link?
Please check your junk or spam folder first.
If you still cannot locate your child’s link, email support@activeimagemedia.com and include:
Rose Tree Elementary School
Your child’s name
Active Image Media will respond with your child’s assigned link.
Ordering After Picture Day
If you do not pre-order, you will receive another email approximately one week after Picture Day. You can use the same personalized link to view your child’s photo and place an order.
Please note: Orders placed after Picture Day will include a $9.95 shipping fee because they will be mailed directly to your home rather than delivered to school.
Family Special
Families with more than two children attending Rose Tree Elementary may receive a free package for their third child.
The free package must be the same package ordered for the siblings.
A la carte items are not included.
To receive the special, send a note with your third child on Picture Day.
Please include the siblings’ names, the package ordered, and the desired background.
Make-Up and Retake Day
The school will notify families when the Make-Up Picture Day is scheduled.
If you pre-ordered and are not satisfied with your child’s photo, your child is eligible for a retake. The original photo package must be returned on Make-Up Day to receive a replacement package.
If you did not pre-order and would like a retake, a $5.00 retake fee will be required.
Thank you!

A few reminders from Mrs. Hefferan, the school nurse:
Welcome back! It’s been wonderful seeing all your children this week!
Parents and caregivers are reminded to check their children for ticks if they have been playing outside. The American Academy of Pediatrics has advice on how to prevent and remove ticks, as well as symptoms to watch out for following a tick bite. Ticks found on students during the school day will be sent home with an information sheet. Feel free to call the nurse's office with any questions.
Is anyone in your home scratching their head? Here's a quick reminder about the district's Lice Management Plan. Classrooms are not screened for lice. You can contact the school nurse at 610-627-7228 for guidance if you are uncertain or if you discover lice/nits.
Updated guidance for parents about head lice was recently published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Click the link for everything you need to know about finding them and treating them. Get in the habit of checking your children’s heads periodically for lice and if you notice itching. Please remind your children not to share hats, brushes, hoodies or headbands / hair ties with their friends.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy!
Contact Mrs. Hefferan (610)627-7228 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Bridget Hefferan

Hello RTES family,
Even though it is only September, we are already planning for this holiday season! This time of year can bring a lot of joy, but also a lot of stress, to families. I am pleased to share that Rose Tree Elementary is working with The Upper Providence Police Department this year to help our families around the holidays. They are providing Thanksgiving meals and holiday gifts to those families that need extra help this holiday season. Your name and information will be kept completely confidential.
If your family is experiencing financial hardship and would like help this holiday season, please fill out and return this form to Jordan Schreiber.
If you are participating in either program, I will reach out to you at a later date to discuss pick up of items and gift wish lists.
Please reach out to Jordan Schreiber at 610-627-7203 or jschreiber@rtmsd.org with any questions or concerns.

A Collaborative Effort
Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year!
Parents, teachers, students, and administrators came together to learn about and discuss the cultural holidays and events observed throughout the school year. Together, they developed the list of holidays and events our schools will recognize, teach about, or celebrate. The selections featured in this newsletter reflect the voices and input of our community.
By learning about the cultures, traditions, and experiences represented in our community, we build greater understanding and acceptance of one another. This shared learning strengthens relationships and enhances each person’s sense of belonging in our schools.
Please select the “Resources” links to learn more.
Please email Ralph Harrison if you have any suggestions or ideas about our monthly events and holidays. We honor dignity by taking the time to learn about the cultures of all of our community members. The events/holidays are listed in the order they occur during the month. For more details, please click on the "Resources" links.
Support the PHS Band
The Philadelphia Phillies have invited the Penncrest Marching Band to participate in their Phillies Band Night on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 6:40 pm. This is both a fundraiser for the band and a competition to see which high school sells the most tickets.
The band will march in a parade down Citizens Bank Way and then play in a concert about an hour before the game. And if our high school sells the most tickets, our band will also get to perform on the field before the game! We have won this competition for the last decade and would like to continue the winning streak.
Tickets are $45 each. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, September 9th. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Penncrest Band
You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a donation. You can check out as guest and make your payment safely with a credit card.
Ticket pick up will be at Penncrest HS Parking lot (outside of the band room - near the lion statue):
Tuesday, September 15: 6 - 8 PM
Wednesday, September 16: 6 - 8 PM
This is a great opportunity for the kids to perform and help raise money for the band. As an added bonus, the Phillies are on a hot streak so it should be a great game to watch!!
