SAHS "Weekly Update" - 9/3/25
"S.W.A.R.M. Together!"
Principal's Update
Yellow Jacket Community,
We have had an excellent first three weeks of school! Our teachers have established their classroom traditions to ensure all students have an optimal academic environment to reach their full potential and our students have "S.W.A.R.M.-ed" every day. This has led to a very positive August with all of the ingredients in place to ensure another very successful school year at The Hive.
We always have information to share and something to celebrate and highlight!
- Students have taken their first summative assessments in many classes and should have completed their first summative assessments in all classes by the end of this week. It is essential for all students to keep up to date with all schoolwork focusing in class and monitoring all coursework through HAC, Schoology, ParentSquare, email, and in-class communications. Interim grades will be here before we know it.
- With August concluded, we are excited to announce that our students continue to "S.W.A.R.M." every day by following our behavior traditions. Building on the unprecedented decline in behavior incidents last year, we had the lowest number of documented behavior incidents on record for the month of August. We are so proud of our students for continuing to put academics and character at the forefront!
- Our first SAC meeting of the year is this Monday, 9/8 at 4:40pm in the SAHS Media Center. This is a great opportunity for parents and community members to receive updates from the school and be included in key decision-making.
- The St. Johns County College and Career Fair is Wednesday, 9/3 @ The Renaissance World Golf Village from 6:00pm - 7:30pm
- Our SAHS "Club Fair" will be September 18th. We encourage all students to get involved with a club, organization, academy, or extracurricular activity. Students that are connected to one of these groups traditionally have more academic success in the classroom.
- We are excited to announce that we have secured the Renaissance World Golf Village for our Homecoming Dance on September 27th! The theme is "Glow Up!" All students that meet our "S.W.A.R.M. Traditions" are eligible to attend. "S.W.A.R.M. Traditions" include no OSS, no more than 2 days of ISS, and less than 7 unexcused absences.
We are off to a great start! Now is the time to focus on upcoming summative assessments to ensure interim grades are reflective of the hard work we are seeing throughout school each and every day.
Together,
Travis Brown - Principal - St. Augustine High School
