Greetings MMS Families,

As hard as it is to believe, we have reached the final full week of the school year, and we are excited to spend it with our students! This week is packed with opportunities to celebrate the incredible accomplishments and talents of our MMS community. We want to wish the best of luck to our student-athletes competing in the Middle School Track and Field Meet of Champions, as well as our baseball team as they compete in the Tri-County Finals for the first time in more than twenty years. Go Merrimack! We also look forward to celebrating the hard work of our Chorus, Concert Band, and Jazz Band students as they perform in their end-of-year concerts for families and classmates. To cap off the week, we will continue one of our favorite MMS traditions as this year's graduating seniors return for the Hawk Walk, reconnecting with former teachers while our students cheer them on as they prepare for their next chapter. It promises to be a memorable and meaningful week, and we are grateful to spend it together as a school community.

Thank you for all your support, have a great final full week!

In 2026, the United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary! To commemorate this event, the Town of Merrimack authorized the creation of the Merrimack USA 250th Anniversary Planning Committee. This committee in partnership with the Merrimack School District is excited to offer an essay contest for students of Merrimack Middle School and a speech contest to the students of Merrimack High School. This contest is being held to not only commemorate the anniversary of America’s founding but also to celebrate the immensely talented and dedicated students in Merrimack.

First place cash prizes for each opportunity will receive $250, with $150 awarded for second place and $100 for third place with gratitude to the Watkins Forest Income Fund and Gage & Lawrence Fund for the prize awards in honor of America's 250th Anniversary and rewarding the talented students of Merrimack.

Please visit the website for more information about submitting your essay or speech to the Merrimack USA 250th Anniversary Planning Committee. All entries are due no later than 11:59PM on Tuesday, June 9th.

Dismissal/Visiting Procedures Dismissal/Visiting Procedures

In our ongoing effort to increase school security, we have the following procedures when parents/guardians come to our school during school hours. Thank you all for your understanding.

Dismissal - If dismissing a student, we ask that an authorized dismissing parent/guardian show their ID in the foyer, and then wait in that location for the dismissed student to meet you.

Dropping off items - If a parent/guardian is dropping off an item for a student, we ask that they leave it in the designated area in the foyer.

Visiting the school - If parents/guardians are arriving for a scheduled meeting, we ask that they show their ID in the foyer and then sign in at the main office to receive a visitor pass.
