High School Happenings

Methacton High School held a lockdown drill today. Teachers have been discussing with students the procedures for a lockdown drill in preparation and today we practiced a building wide lockdown drill. The drill was conducted with the cooperation and participation of local law enforcement and Montgomery County Public Safety Office partners . The teachers and students did an outstanding job! The drill was conducted efficiently and there was minimal impact to classroom instruction. The safety of your children is our utmost priority.

We need your help to create some fun surprise goodie bags for all of the staff at MHS! Help us show our teachers and support staff how much we appreciate all that they do each day.

If you are willing and able to help contribute to this cause we would need items dropped off to the high school by 9 am on October 15th. Items can be dropped on carts outside of the front doors of the main office or the East wing. The carts out there will be labeled in both locations "FALL HOME AND SCHOOL DROP".

The Student Hub is a place where students can receive academic support. It is part of the high school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is a schoolwide framework designed to ensure that every student receives the support needed to succeed.

Academic support will be provided in the Student Hub. Students can access the Student Hub in two ways:

1. A teacher or student wants the student to get temporary help. In this case, the teacher signs the student up for a time. Students cannot miss a different scheduled class.

2. The school's MTSS team has identified the student to be at risk of failing a class and are requiring the student to visit the Student Hub. When this occurs, parents will be notified before the student is scheduled for support. This support will occur during the students' already scheduled study hall time.

In the Student Hub, students will be able to work with certified teachers, peer tutors, and/or utilize specific academic intervention programs.

Please feel free to reach out to your child's counselor or assistant principal if you'd like more information.

There will be themes every day and games during lunch! Our Friday afternoon pep rally will be amazing with student staff games such as Hungry Hungry Hippos! Imagine what that could look like?

Here are our daily themes:

Monday: PJ Day (wear appropriate PJ's)

Tuesday: USA Day

Wednesday: Costume Day (school appropriate)

Thursday: Country vs. Country Club

Friday: Class Color Day

The Homecoming Dance is 6:30 - 8:30 in the MHS gym on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Students will not be let in after 6:45 pm and will not be able to leave before 8:00 pm. All students need to enter and exit through the front entrance by the flagpole. No bags will be permitted and students with pockets may be searched. Girls may bring a small handbag but will be asked to show it's contents. Please contact your child's Assistant Principal if you need any concerns.

Tickets are on sale now. The cost is 25 dollars and the link will be on each class's Google Classroom page. There will also be signs throughout the school helping students gain access to the link.

The Methacton Special Education Alliance Home & School Association is a department of the Methacton Coordinating Council, which offers connections, events, and informational sessions for Methacton students and their families.
