Superintendent's Update
November 21, 2025
Dear CCPS Families -
What a wonderful week of celebration we have had! We were honored to host our Service Recognition Gala on Wednesday evening at Schaefer's Canal House. It was a true pleasure to recognize and thank our devoted staff members who have given 30, 35, and 40 years of service to our students and schools. Their commitment is the foundation of our district’s success, and we were thrilled to celebrate their lasting impact on our community.
Throughout this week, we have also been celebrating our students' outstanding academic achievements! We’ve held numerous award ceremonies across the district to recognize the success of the first marking period. I am proud to announce that we had a total of 5,265 Honor Roll recipients, including 1,964 students in our elementary schools and 3,301 students in our secondary schools. This level of accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our students, the support of their families, and the dedication of our teaching staff.
This evening, we wish the Elkton and Perryville High School football teams good luck as they continue their playoff journey! We are cheering you on and are proud of your success this season.
Finally, as we head into next week, I wish every family a very Happy Thanksgiving. Please take this well-deserved time to rest, reflect, and enjoy the holiday with your family and friends.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
