"Encourage one another and build each other up ..."

1 Thessalonians 5:11

It was really great to sit down with you all this week. I loved our time, and getting to talk about your student's progress this year, and how we can work together to help them meet their best potential. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please reach out! I'm easily available by email, and am happy to sit down if needed as well! Thank you for all your love and support for your children!

This week, we continued reading expository texts in Reading about the beginning of our nation. We practiced our skills with some new reading assignments as a class, which I hope will help critical thinking when reading. In Math we finished up our topic on multiplication, and started a new topic on multiplying with decimals. I know the class will do great with this topic as well. I encourage anyone who is still struggling with math facts to practice at home to build fluency. In SciTrek students planned out an experiment about variables that affect shadows. They then critiqued their experiment, and found they really can only have one changing variable to get usable data. They then designed a second experiment, which they will run next week. In Social Studies, we learned about the Columbian Exchange, and how this changed trade throughout the world. In Religion, we wrote our prayers of intercession we will be using for our mass next week. Readings are in the Friday Folders to practice. I encourage you to join us when we lead the school in prayer on Wednesday, October 15 at 9:00am in the church.

Students with perfect attendance in September have received a free dress pass in their Friday Folder today. Perfect attendance means not only being at school each day, but being on time, and not leaving throughout the day or early. Congratulations to those students with perfect attendance!
