Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More!
Week of March 2, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Every day your child is in school is an opportunity for them to learn, grow, and build meaningful connections. Consistent attendance is the foundation of their academic success, and that means not just showing up, but arriving on time and staying for the entire day.
When students arrive late or check out early, they often miss crucial classroom instruction, fall behind on daily routines, and experience unnecessary stress. Full days at school help build the habits they need to succeed both now and in the future.
To encourage excellent attendance habits as we head into spring, I am excited to announce our March Attendance Challenge. For the entire month of March, we are challenging all students to achieve the "Triple Zero":
0 Unexcused Absences
0 Tardies
0 Early Checkouts
Students who successfully complete this challenge for the month will earn a very special reward: an exclusive "Lunch on the Stage" experience and a special prize! We know that students may get sick, and we encourage you to keep your child home if they are sick. Excused absences will not count for this challenge. An excused absence is a medical note or a parent note (for up to five days per semester).
We know that mornings can be hectic and family schedules are busy, but we greatly appreciate your partnership in making full-day school attendance a top priority. Let's work together to make March a fantastic, fully-attended month of learning!
Warmly,
Heather Schumacher
Interim Principal

🚧 Construction Update 🚧
- After Spring Break, K-5 students will start to use the brand new playground while the playground by the gym gets demolished and a new playground installed.
- By the end of March or beginning of April the back of the school will reopen! However that means that the front of the school will be closing. At that time car arrival and dismissal will move to the back of the school. We will also be moving the main entrance to the back of the school, with a temporary security vestibule.

As a reminder, student safety is our number one priority. At drop off and dismissal, please act with patience and understanding towards everyone in our community.

Character Trait Of The Month
Throughout the year, staff will be recognizing students who demonstrate different character traits each month. At the end of each month, teachers will select one student from their class who has best exemplified that month's trait to be celebrated and awarded a certificate in recognition of their character.
For the month of March, our All-Stars are focusing on Honesty. While we often think of honesty as "telling the truth," it also includes Trustworthiness—being the kind of person others can rely on to do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Family Activity: The "Trust Jar"
This is a simple visual way for families to see how honesty builds a stronger home.
What you need: * A clear jar (or glass).
A handful of small items (coins, beans, or LEGO bricks).
How to play:
The Talk: Explain that the jar represents the "Trust" in your family. When we are honest, we add to the jar. When we are dishonest, items have to be taken out.
The Challenge: For one week, every time a family member "owns a mistake" without being asked or follows through on a promise (like doing a chore), add one item to the jar.
The Reward: Once the jar is full, the family earns a "Trust Treat"—like a movie night, a trip for ice cream, or 15 minutes of extra game time.
Why it works: It shifts the focus from "getting in trouble for lying" to "earning rewards for being brave enough to tell the truth." It teaches kids that Being Honest is something you build every day!
