Where has the year gone? In the midst of testing season, it's time to focus on finishing strong and engaging with your future. Seniors, not 100% sure about your next steps? Please schedule an appointment with Ms. Allen and your counselor to see how we can support you. Juniors, we're gearing up for 2027! Freshmen and sophomores, let's start exploring your future!

This week's letter has Senior Surveys (no cap and gown until they're completed 😊), checking the portals, junior summer information, open houses and SCOIR. Don't forget about scholarships and Smart Futures career tasks for sophomores and freshmen, new job openings, and upcoming events!

Class of 2026 - It's time to complete your senior surveys (there are two!). Please follow these 2026 Graduation Survey Instructions carefully. By completing these forms you will let us know where to send your final transcript and we will automatically send it to the place of your choosing as soon as it in finalized in mid to late June. This must be completed by Monday, May 18th at 8:00 am in order to pick up your cap and gown for graduation.

A few reminders:

  • Continue to check your college portals for information about your orientation, tuition payments, housing selection and forms needed before enrolling.
  • Make sure you accept or decline financial aid offers/loans on your financial aid page.
  • Not sure where you are headed? Check out our PHS Job Opportunities for full-time employment options and CIEE: Spend Your First Semester Abroad for $8,080 as an alternative to traditional college pathways. See Ms. Allen or your counselor for assistance. We are here to help!

Class of 2027 - One Year to Go! Class of 2027 - One Year to Go!

It's hard to believe that in one year you will be saying your goodbyes and planning your next steps. To help you on your journey, we'll be offering individual meetings for rising juniors and their families. Please see our letter below!

Additionally, now is a great time to check out Open Houses for Juniors! Consider virtual options such as the University of Washington's Junior Dawg Day, or in-person options like the Alvernia Advantage.

Please remember to complete all your Naviance tasks ASAP (no parking pass without them!) and continue to use SCOIR to help you in your search process! Parents/Guardians, if you have not activated your SCOIR account, please check your email today!

Dear Class of 2027 students and parents/guardians:

As the end of the academic year approaches, Penncrest counselors are hard at work preparing for your upcoming senior year. You’ve selected your courses for next year, you’ve met with your counselor individually to discuss your post-secondary plans, and many of you have already taken an SAT or ACT exam.

Penncrest High School Counselors are available during their summer hours to provide additional guidance and support for the entire college application process for rising seniors and their parents/guardians. Counselors will host a virtual College Application Boot Camp presentation and are available for individual planning meetings via Zoom with students and their parents/guardians. These sessions allow for individualized questions and planning for students while the virtual presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the entire college application process. A College Application Boot Camp presentation will walk students and families through the busy season ahead, with information about Scoir, deadlines, teacher recommendations, and more. The Zoom link for the College Application Boot Camp is posted below. Registration is required for the individual planning meetings. (See registration links below for each counselor.) Space is limited to a first-come, first-served basis.
