Hello FamiLEE,

We are ending another awesome week focusing on getting ready for the ACT and being successful in all content areas. Our Spring Open House is coming up on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. We are excited to have you come in and meet your child's teachers and see the expectations in each class. Our faculty and staff FamiLEE are very excited to see you. We will have a parent meeting and data discussion in the theatre at 5:30pm and then you can visit your child's teachers in their classrooms to meet and discuss your child's progress. If you child isn't with you, we will be passing out schedules so that you can find their classes.

The Honor Society Induction is Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 9:00a.m. We would love for you to join us to see your child get inducted. If your child is getting inducted, you should receive a notification from the honor society sponsor. The honor societies that will have inductions are National Honor Society, BETA Club, Spanish Honor Society, Thespians, Tri-M (Music), USITT (Technical Theater), Dance Honor Society, and Art Honor Society.

I need your help! We have an increase in tardies to school daily. Students are getting to school after 8:30a.m. and late to classes. This is causing students to miss important information in class. Can you assist with ensuring your child is to school on time and going to class. Good attendance is essential for achievement in school and we need your child here as much as possible so that we can move forward as a school community. When your child misses school for any reason, please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org.

• Attention Seniors! Senior Cap and Gown Pictures are February 11 from 9-10. Please sign up for a time at this link!

• Attention Lee High School Students! Black History Month is quickly approaching and our student leaders have planned a Black Artist Fashion Show that will take place during FamiLEE time on Thursday, February 13th. • For the month of January Lee PTSA is holding a student membership drive for each homeroom class. The students or you may purchase memberships at this link. The student memberships are $5. Each homeroom class that reaches 100% membership will then earn a pizza party at the end of the contest and each new member will earn a card for a FREE sandwich at Zaxby’s valued at $5.

• 2025 Curriculum Showcase to be Held February 8! The 2025 Curriculum Showcase will be held on February 8, 2025 in the VBC East Hall for parents and students to experience all the career tech pathways that HCS has to offer. Middle schools, high schools, HCS departments, colleges, and local businesses will also be in attendance. There will be breakout sessions for AP and honors, magnet, and dual enrollment. There will also be stage performances from across the district and JROTC color guard will lead the curriculum parade! Come find out all you need to know about the career pathways at HCS.

• Shout-out to our JKL Club for volunteering at the Meridianville Downtown Rescue Mission Thrift Store on Monday to celebrate MLK’s legacy of service!
