Wildcat Weekly- 8/24-28

Message from Mrs. LeMaster 🐾
Dear Pomerado Families,
We had a wonderful second week at Pomerado! It was so much fun seeing our campus continue to come to life as students settled into routines, built relationships, and got to know what it means to be a Wildcat.
One of the things I loved most this week was getting into every classroom to talk with our Wildcats about PRIDE! PRIDE stands for Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Demonstrate Gratitude, and Empathy. We talked about what these qualities look and sound like at school and how we celebrate Wildcats who put them into action. Students also learned about the different ways they can be recognized for showing PRIDE throughout the school day.
I also loved seeing so many of you at Back to School Night! Thank you for taking the time to come to campus, meet your child’s teacher, learn more about the year ahead, and connect with our Pomerado community. I’ve included the slides from my Meet the Principal presentation for anyone who would like to revisit them or for those who weren’t able to join us.
Ask your child about school PRIDE and see if they can tell you what each letter stands for! We are excited to see our Wildcats continue to show their PRIDE each and every day.
Thank you for a great second week, Pomerado families! We are off to a wonderful start.
Warmly,
Lauren LeMaster
School Site Council Parent Representatives Needed
We are looking for two parent/guardians to join our Wildcat School Site Council (SSC)! This is a great opportunity to get involved in our school and have a voice in important decisions that support our students.
What is the School Site Council?
The SSC is a team of teachers, school staff, the principal, and parents who work together to develop, monitor, and revise Pomerado’s School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Our Wildcat SSC also helps strengthen two-way communication between our school, families, and the District.
Together, we will look at how we can make the most effective use of our Title I funds to strengthen our educational program and improve academic performance and progress for each and every Wildcat.
What is the time commitment?
Parent/guardian members are elected by their peers and serve a two-year term. There are five meetings scheduled for the 2026–27 school year:
- September 24, 2026
- December 10, 2026
- March 11, 2027
- April 8, 2027
- May 13, 2027
Meetings will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Room, with the option to join via Zoom. Each meeting will be approximately 1–1.5 hours.
We would love to have a parent voice at the table as we work together to make Pomerado the best it can be for every Wildcat!

New ParentVUE Mobile App
Edupoint has released a modernized ParentVUE (New) mobile application and retired the older ParentVUE app. Families should download the updated version to maintain access to student grades, schedules, and attendance records. Here are some easy directions you might provide to families:
How to Get Started with ParentVUE (New)
Remove Old App: Delete the old ParentVUE app from your phone first so the new version functions correctly.
Download: Search for ParentVUE (New) directly in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or follow the upgrade prompt inside your legacy (old) ParentVUE app.
Connect to District: Open the new app, swipe through the intro, and search for your school district using your postal zip code.
Log In: If prompted, select "Already Activated" if you already have an account, and sign in using your existing username and password.

Your donations make a HUGE difference in our classrooms, and we want to make every cent count for your kids!
This year, in lieu of providing supplies from a traditional list, we ask each family to donate $30–$40 (or any amount you are able to contribute) to our individual classroom supply funds. Money will be used to purchase school supplies throughout the school year.
Why the change? We’ve found this is not only a cheaper and easier option for families, but it also ensures each teacher can purchase exactly what the class needs, when it's needed, with nothing going to waste! 💵✏️📌
How to Donate:
- Methods: Cash, checks, or Amazon Gift Cards
- When: Donations can be dropped off during the first weeks of school or after Back to School Night
- Checks: Please make checks payable to Pomerado Elementary School Foundation
🛒Prefer to shop a physical list instead? If you would still prefer to shop a list yourself, you can check out the items needed per grade level here.
