Grades 5 and up

Do you like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Nate the Great series? Jake the Fake Keeps it Real, written by Craig Robinson and Adam Mansbach, with art by Malden born cartoonist Keith Knight is a funny story of an 11 year old boy who is admitted to the exclusive Arts and Music Academy. Jake’s problem? He is an amazing cartoonist but isn’t a very good student and knows very little about music. In this hysterical story, Jake must figure out how to survive life in his new school when he doesn’t have a clue on what to do, especially with the big talent show coming up. Jake the Fake is available from the Malden Public Library as both a print and ebook. Copies will also be available in all five K-8 Malden Public School libraries when safe circulation resumes at some point in the future.
