AVA Family UpdateJune 14, 2024

Good morning AVA Students and Families,

Our 23-24 school year has ended. Teachers are submitting final grades and I will publish them to the Aspen portal on Tuesday. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me.

I will be contacting any student who failed a course to discuss both implications and options moving forward by Thursday of next week.

I have the last guidance update included below. You will hear from me again on or about August 20th, but if you need something in the meantime, I work through the summer so don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates Guidance Updates

AVA Guidance will have office hours next week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 7:30am - 2:30pm

Naviance

Over the summer, we strongly recommend all AVA students grades 9-11 continue to utilize the free online College and Career search tool Naviance. Juniors who are thinking about college: it is strongly recommended to take this time to do your research about different post-secondary schools and look up their Fall/Winter application deadlines. Every college has its own deadlines, and they will heavily determine what materials and when you need to have them ready by, so please start this task sooner than later. Email Ms Nellie (nng@attleboroschools.com) anytime if you forget your Naviance password. Below are login instructions and recommended Naviance activities based on grade level.

NCAA Registration
Another kind reminder: students and families who are interested in participating in collegiate sports through the NCAA, please register online at the Eligibility Center website (linked HERE) sooner than later. Although you may register even after high school graduation, we strongly recommend doing so while still enrolled in high school to ensure a smoother transfer of school records and information. AVA's CEEB code for NCAA registration is: 220067.

AVA juniors, seniors, and families are invited to attend this free workshop next Monday, June 17th, from 4pm to 7pm on the AHS campus, A141 or the College and Career Center. Pizza and refreshments will be served starting around 5:30pm. There will be a MEFA presentation at 6pm, and juniors are strongly encouraged to attend at that time. 4pm-6pm will focus on giving direct help to seniors who may still need to complete the FAFSA or have FAFSA concerns. Hope to see you there!
