End of Year Planning
One month left and we are in the throes of testing season. Best of luck to all students taking AP and/or Keystone exams next week! Make sure you check the schedule and know where you need to be and when. Non test-takers need to report to school by 10:30 am for homeroom. Review all messages in Schoology for the most up-to-date information.
As the days get longer, it's time to focus on what's next. For our freshmen and sophomores, make sure you are completing your Naviance Career Tasks and keeping your grades up for your transcript. See your teachers for help!
Juniors, register for the SAT/ACT and start your college/career planning.Visit schools, make your Common App account, and talk to teachers about their processes for letters of recommendation. Organization is the key to navigating your senior year successfully! Note: Trade schools are also extremely competitive! If you are thinking about applying to Williamson, Thaddeus Stevens, or Penn College of Technology, look at their programs and make sure to complete the steps early. Electrical programs were on waitlists by November at several schools!
Seniors, please read the next section for graduation surveys and financial aid updates. Check Schoology and Mr. Roth's Newsletter for all the important dates!
Seniors - Less than a Month!
Graduation Surveys - It's time to complete your senior surveys! This information allows us to know where you are headed next year and what additional help we can provide for you. Instructions are listed below - read carefully and complete both the Naviance Survey and the Google form. These must be completed by May 18th to receive your cap and gown on Monday, May 19th.
Meet with Ms. Allen - Not sure about next steps? Please schedule a meeting with Ms. Allen to discuss plans. We can work together to review all options!
Financial Aid and FAFSA - The FAFSA is still open and accepting applications. Please reach out if you have any questions or get support with known issues. Please keep checking the student email used for FAFSA to receive information about the state grant from PHEAA. The email will come from a PHEAA address.
🎓Graduation Surveys✍🏻
Graduation is just around the corner! It is time to celebrate and complete your graduation surveys. This task must be completed by May 18th in order to receive your cap and gown. The surveys allow us to know your future plans, including where to send your final transcript if you are continuing your education. Upon completion, we will automatically send your final transcript to the college/institution you are attending once it becomes available in late June. You do not need to make a separate request unless you change your school or have not yet decided.
Please read the 2025 Graduation Survey Instructions thoroughly and complete both parts – the Naviance survey and the Google form – by Sunday, May 18th. If you need assistance, please stop by the counseling office.
Please contact Ms. Allen or any of the PHS Counselors with questions.
