Return of FID Materials:
As we approach the end of the 2024–2025 school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. It has been a tremendous year of learning, growth, and community.
As part of our year-end wrap-up, we kindly ask that students return their FID (Flexible Instructional Day) drawstring bags and any unused FID workbooks to their homeroom teacher by Monday, June 2nd.
Please note there is no penalty/fee if you are unable to locate the items. However, in an effort to promote sustainability and reduce waste, we hope to collect and reuse as many materials as possible.
Tomorrow!!
Field Day (Take 2) - This Thursday!!💜💙
THURSDAY, MAY 29TH
Hi Gayman Community! Are you looking to help out and volunteer your time on Field Day? Gayman's Field Day will take place on Thursday May 29th, and we need adults to run our 13 outdoor stations. The sign-up genius is split into two sections, AM and PM, and you can sign-up for one or even both. We appreciate all you do for the school and our children. This is a great opportunity to team up with Gayman Staff to make this year’s field day the best ever! Go Mustangs!! 💜💙
**We understand the ground will be wet from Wednesday's rain, but we are going to try our best to make Field Day happen. Please dress your child in clothes and sneakers that can get muddy. Feel free to send in a change of clothes as well!**
Lunch Times for Field Day:
11:30-12:00 - 1st & 2nd Grades
12:00-12:30 - 3rd & 4th Grades
12:30-1:00 - 5th & 6th Grades
All of the games are outside. With the exception of the lunch
break (11:30-1:00) students will be outside.
**When you arrive at Gayman (either to help run a game or just to watch), please walk directly
to the back playground. Staff members will be happy to direct you to the proper
station or class you are visiting.**
Move Up Day:
Gayman will hold a Move Up Day on Thursday, June 12th from 9:00-10:00AM.
Students will not be assigned a specific teacher by that date. Instead students will meet all grade level teachers and learn about the highlights of what the 2025-2026 school year will hold for them. Our goal in this activity is to build excitement about the coming year and reduce anxiety for the next school year, as we head into the summer.
We look forward to the upcoming school year!
Motorized and Electric Bikes, Scooters, and Segways:
Please know that elementary school students are not allowed to ride motorized and electric bikes, scooters, and segways to and from school. These vehicles are regulated by the state of Pennsylvania and there are age restrictions for their use. Students may ride bicycles (non-motorized/non-electric) to school with parent permission. Bike helmets must be worn. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Age Restrictions: No person under 16 years of age shall operate a pedalcycle with electric assist, as stated in Section 3514.0 - Title 75 - VEHICLES
Dress Code:
Now that the warm weather is here, we want to remind families that students should come to school in a comfortable manner that allows them to be authentically who they are, while also complying with equitable dress code policies. If your child chooses their own clothes to wear, please remind them that some outfits are not appropriate for school.
The following are guidelines for apparel for all students. If you have any questions, please contact the school:
- Footwear should be comfortable and safe for indoor and outdoor school surfaces. Crocs, flip-flops, beach or loose footwear are not appropriate for school and may be dangerous on our playground.
- The length of shorts or skirts is to be appropriate for school and there is to be no wording on the seat.
- Inappropriate slogans, offensive content, or expressions, etc., are not to be worn on clothing.
- Undergarments are not to be visible.
- Any attire the administration considers interfering with quality of education shall not be permitted
