Spring Parent Teacher Conferences -- These will be held on February 12th & 13th. By now you should have heard from your child's advisory teacher. If you have not, please reach out to that teacher.

We will discuss next years class choices, verify contact information, go over current progress and sign next step plans (which is a state mandate). Seniors will not be able to walk if this is not signed in time.

Scheduling for 25/26 school year

February 23rd, students will input their choices into PowerSchool. This is the time for students to chose what classes they want for next year. If they are not in advisory to choose, the could be put into classes they did not chose next year. We will also go over these choices with you at Parent Teacher Conferences.

Literacy Night -- Now that we are choosing classes for next year, we want you to be able to come see for yourself what happens in these classes. On February 26th we will have a time for all parents and students to come see what is going on in the classes that your child chose for next year. Come see everything that our many electives have to offer. Our core classes are ready to show off all the out of the box instruction that goes on through the year. We will have sandwiches, chips and water while supplies last.

Sadie Hawkins Dance -- the Senior class will be putting on a dance February 28th in the commons area from 7-9. Tickets will be sold soon. Students can listen to announcements for more details as it gets closer. Attendance will be looked at for purchasing tickets.

Yearbooks!

The 2026 Eye of the Tiger Yearbook will be available to purchase online through March 20th using the link below. Last year's book sold out, so please order early to avoid being disappointed. Please note that a senior ad purchase includes one copy of the yearbook.

Be Here Attendance Challenge -- February 11th is our 120th day of school

Multifactor Authentication System -- Students will only be able to log in with their ID. An email about this was sent out from Jessica Lopez with more information.

New Time for the front to open -- The front of the school will change from 7:45 to open at 8:00 starting on March 1st

100% ID check on Tiger Drive -- To ensure safety of all entering Tiger Drive, you will need to stop and show your ID as you enter. This applies to staff and student entering through Tiger Drive. Students who do not have ID on them, will be sent to drive around to the front of the school to get one and then be allowed into Tiger Drive. If multiple students are in a vehicle, all must have ID on them or will be turned around.

Hi Seniors!

Scholarships

Mrs. Estrada has many many many scholarship opportunities posted on the Senior Google Classroom. Deadlines are coming up fast to apply. Also, if your student has received a scholarship, please let Mrs. Estrada know by filling out this form so we can recognize them at our Scholarship night.

Cap and gown purchasing -- Only half of the graduating Seniors have ordered their caps and gowns. The company waits to produce these for most to order to keep costs lower. Please see the link if you need help ordering. This link will assist you in purchasing only the cap and gown. You are still welcome to purchase other graduation items as well.

Go to herffjones.com

From there select Graduation, search my school, shop graduation

That page will display packages with many items. Click Cap and Gown packs and that will bring you to a selection with smaller packages. If you still need assistance, you can reach out to adeline.derenzy@alamogordoschools.org

Seniors in Danger

Many Seniors are putting themselves in danger of not graduating by not showing up to class and not doing required work. We are so close to graduation and want to support our students to get to this first big milestone in their life. Please continue to help encourage and motivate your student to keep pushing through to the end. Communication with teachers will also help you to know where your child stands and how you can help.
