MEMORIAL DAY—As we embark on our long weekend, let us take a moment to honor and remember those who have served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Cell Phone Reminder:Cell Phone Reminder: We have noticed increased student cell phone usage. Please remind students that cell phones must be removed from bell to bell, from the morning bell to the dismissal bell. Additionally, if students feel unwell, they should visit the nurse instead of using their cell phone to call home from the bathroom. Only the nurse can authorize excused dismissals for illness.

Mr. Eddie Cortes Visit: This week, we held a whole school event featuring Mr. Eddie Cortes, who reminded our students of the importance of strength and self-recognition. Many students expressed their appreciation for Mr. Cortes's energy and his messages about adopting “The I’m Possible" mindset, which emphasizes three key areas: “I can do hard things,” “I am worthy of my dreams,” and “I am full of possibilities.”

PTO Fundraiser- We are nearing the final stretch of our PTO fundraiser, and with only a week remaining, we encourage you to check the current standings. Every penny funds events such as in-school presentations, field trips, and dances.

Bike/Walk Week- Our Walk/Bike to School Day was a tremendous success, with over 30 students joining several Folwe staff members, officers from Maynard Police, David, and me for the event. We gathered at the Mill parking lot off Sudbury Street, enjoying a few minutes of conversation before setting off to school. Though the trip was brief, it was worth every second. We plan to organize this event again with a fresh twist—perhaps featuring bagels and bikes!

Field Trips- We have several upcoming field trips across our building, and it’s important to remind families that the weather can be unpredictable, so proper attire is essential. Additionally, please remember to send a water bottle and lunch for the trip. If your child will need a meal from the café, reach out to us a day prior, and we can arrange for our food service program to provide a bagged lunch, which includes a basic sandwich and snacks.

MCAS- Only grade 8 Civics and a few make-ups remain.

Flying High Dogs—Today, the third graders joined grades 4 and 5 for the Flying Dogs presentation, showcasing that upper elementary school is as fun and exciting as lower school. The event was filled with cheers, laughter, and student engagement. A big thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this event! On June 2nd, a special event for our middle school will feature guest speaker Michael Chase, also sponsored by our AMAZING PTO!

Bike Safety Message From Troop 70515 Bike Safety Message From Troop 70515

Members of 5 th Grade Girl Scout Troop 70515 have been working to raise

awareness of the importance of wearing helmets while riding bikes or scooters.

This week they have set up a display table in the Fowler lobby with important

helmet information, handed out flyers explaining the proper way to adjust

helmets, made and handed out bracelets, and encouraged students to sign a

“Helmet Pledge,” promising to properly wear helmets when riding bicycles. They

have also created a video which has been shared with some of the classroom

teachers. Please take a look at the video and share with your students.

Thank You
