ππ£ A Message from the Hillcrest Staff
Dear Parents and Students,
Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break and are feeling refreshed as we begin this new year together.
A new year brings a fresh start, new opportunities, and a chance to grow. Our staff is excited to welcome students back and is committed to starting the year on a positive note. By working togetherβstudents, families, and staffβwe can create a supportive, respectful, and successful learning environment for everyone. We encourage open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork as we move forward. When we support one another and work as a team, we set our students up for successβbecause teamwork truly makes the dream work!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and achievement.
Warm regards,
Hillcrest Staff
π i-Ready Testing Coming Up!
Over the next few weeks, we will be conducting i-Ready testing in both math and reading. Please check your childβs ClassDojo messages from their teacher for the exact testing dates.
This assessment helps teachers understand your childβs learning needs and guide instruction to better support them in the classroom. Thank you for your support!
π§₯π¬οΈ Weather-Ready at School
COLD WEATHER GEAR
It is important that your child is prepared with recess gear to match the weather as we go outside for recess twice a day as temperatures permit.
Closed shoes or boots are required to play on the grass or playground.
Labeling your childβs gear with first and last names can help us return any lost items.
Students will go outside for recess when the temperature is 20 degrees or above, including windchill. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor play.
π Reminder About Pick-Up Safety & Parking Rules
Dear Parents,
I hope everyone is doing well! π We had a bit of a challenging pick-up lately at Hillcrest, so Iβd like to remind everyone of a few important guidelines to help keep things safe and smooth for all families:
π« Please do not park or drive on the opposite side of Vernon during pick-up.
βΏ Handicap spaces are reserved for vehicles with valid handicap permits only.
π Please avoid blocking driveways or parking in front of homes on Vernon.
Your cooperation helps keep our community safe and respectful π. Thank you so much for your understanding and support!

Speech Services Update
We want to reassure families that if your child currently receives speech services at our school, those services will continue without interruption. While there is a staff change happening within our team, student support remains a priority, and services will be maintained through the district. Please note that details about staff transitions are confidential, and we appreciate your understanding.
πβ° Attendance Matters!
Being on time = More learning, less catching up!
Let's keep the day running smoothly and start on schedule. ππ
