D65 Sustainability Plan and April 7 School Board Meeting D65 Sustainability Plan and April 7 School Board Meeting

Thank you again for engaging with us to share feedback on our draft D65 Sustainability Plan in March.

Starting Feb 27 through March 17, our working group engaged in a stakeholder feedback process with:

  • D65 Cabinet Leaders
  • D65 School Leaders
  • D65 Bargaining Unit Leaders
  • D65 Sustainability Leadership Team
  • D65 Curriculum Advisory Council
  • Chute Green STEAM Student Club
  • D65 Climate Action & School Garden Community

Our team hosted 9 meetings with 95+ people and emailed 300+ people our draft plan with a feedback survey resulting in 11 responses.

Our working group processed the stakeholder feedback in late March and finalized our D65 Sustainability Plan in preparation for our April 7 School Board Presentation.

Looking Forward:

At the April 7 D65 School Board Meeting, we will present our D65 Sustainability Plan: Sustainable Schools, Healthy and Just Futures and request adoption of 4:70 Resource Conservation policy revisions to move our Plan into Policy.

Appreciate your continued support and uplifting energy on this journey to develop our first D65 sustainability plan.

Election season is officially over. To support our community's sustainability efforts, the City of Evanston and the Village of Wilmette have partnered with local recycler LRS to provide drop-off locations where community members can recycling corrugated plastic yard signs. Drop-offs will be available from April 2 to April 9. Community members should separate the metal wireframes from the plastic to aid in the recycling process.

The Evanston drop-off location will be in the parking lot of 2100 Ridge Ave., near the building.
