Fremont Newsletter2026-2027Welcome Back, Chargers

August 31, 2026 August 31, 2026

Greetings, Chargers! Greetings, Chargers!

Dear Fremont Families,

What a wonderful week at Fremont! Thank you to all of our families for the incredible turnout at Back-to-School Night. It was wonderful to see so many families on campus, connecting with teachers and learning more about the exciting year ahead. We also appreciate your support of our Book Fair and your continued encouragement of reading at home!

We also kicked off our first PBIS Rally of the school year! Our September Character Strong trait is RESPECT. A special shout-out to our amazing ASB students for creating a video highlighting what respect looks like at Fremont and for leading fun activities during our rally. We are so proud of our student leaders!

Our Charger Dollars are now being distributed! Students have opportunities to earn Charger Dollars by demonstrating our schoolwide expectations and showing positive behaviors throughout the school day. Our first PBIS celebration will be our Fiesta de Independencia on September 16th! We look forward to celebrating our students and all their hard work.

📚 Dual Language Immersion Family Presentation

Families interested in learning more about our Dual Language Immersion Program are invited to join us on Tuesday, September 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Come learn more about our program, its highlights, and the many opportunities it provides for our students.

👩‍🏫 Parent-Teacher Conferences

Please don't forget to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences, taking place September 18–25. These conferences are an important opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, celebrate their progress, and work together to support their continued success.

Thank you, Fremont families, for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a school community where every Charger feels welcomed, respected, supported, and ready to learn!

Go Chargers! đź’›

Families are able to view students homeroom teacher through the Parent Portal prior to the first day of school. Please remember that the class placement is subject to change through the first days of school as we work towards leveling classes. The Parent Portal is critical in monitoring student academic progress and attendance throughout the school year as well as updating relevant information. It is vital that student contact information is updated such as current home address, primary and secondary phone numbers, medication and allergy information and emergency contacts. Click image to access the Parent Portal link.

Alternate Income Form (AIF) 2026-2027 Alternate Income Form (AIF) 2026-2027

Please complete the AIF for Fremont Students!

Please take a moment to complete the Household Income Survey via your Parent Portal. This household income survey helps to ensure that our District and our school receive all the funding for which we are eligible to serve all students equitably. Every student in Alhambra Unified will continue to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Separate from the National School Lunch Program, this data may help students and schools qualify for additional state and federal funding to serve all students equitably and offer additional services and resources.

Please scan the QR code to complete the form. You may also complete it by logging into your Parent Portal Account. One form is required per student. If you require assistance, you can contact our Main Office for support.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

This school year, we will continue our work with Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS), an evidence-based, three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems and practices affecting student outcomes every day. The goal of PBIS is to create a positive school climate where students learn and grow. School climate has a direct impact on attendance rates, academic achievement, and engagement. PBIS is a District-wide initiative. We will be continuing to implement PBIS at Fremont with our Behavior Expectation Matrix for the 3 R’s. We also will be continuing with Character Strong curriculum to support socioemotional learning.

School Safety: Arrival and Dismissal Procedures School Safety: Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

PLEASE DO not drive through or park in the staff parking lot located off Fremont street. Be mindful when parking on Elm and Ross streets-always reading posted traffic signs. Morning drop off and dismissal gates differ depending on the grade level for your child. Fremont Families, it is important to respect our neighbors and adhere to traffic safety laws, keeping our students safe off campus. Fremont is located on busy streets and we want to assure the safety of our students and staff.

Arrival: There is only one entrance to campus-located at the front gate on Elm Street. Students will be ushered to designated areas for teacher pick-up.

Dismissal: TK and Kindergarten dismissal will be at the breezeway, near the front gate. Students will only be released by teachers to parents/guardians/caretakers with release cards. 1st grade students will also be released in the breezeway to families. 2nd and 3rd grade students will exit at the front gate on Elm Street. 4th-8th grade students will exit at the back gate (near field) on Ross Street.

Alhambra Police Department will continue being visible at arrival and pick up. Reminders: The Valet curbside should not be used for parking at any time. It is for pick up and drop off only. Please keep the vehicles moving to allow for traffic flow. In addition, we want to remind all Fremont Families not to double park or allow students to cross the street outside of a crosswalk. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

AUSD Personal Device Policy and Practices AUSD Personal Device Policy and Practices

Students' cell phones and personal devices shall be off and away during the day at AUSD Schools.

New California legislation establishes a cell phone-free education for our K-12 public schools. The lawmakers acknowledges the research and feedback from health officials, educators, and families that these devices have significantly negatively affected academic achievement and student health.

Here are the expectations of students:

1. Personal electronic devices (cellular phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and headphones) will need to be stored in student backpacks/bags for the school day as students enter schools.

2. Students will not use personal electronic devices during the school day inclusive of class time, breakfast, lunch, bathroom breaks, and passing time between classes.
