PTC “Coffee on Campus w/PTC”
Hello Woodsy Owls,
A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make our very first BEFORE-school Back to School Night happen! Please share your feedback with your child’s teacher. We hope the evening helped students feel more prepared for the first day—and eased some of those perfectly normal jitters about new teachers, classrooms, grade levels, and friends.
If you missed it, don’t worry! All of the information is available on our school website. You are also always welcome to stop by the office and ask us about anything you need or are wondering about.
Beginning Monday, August 17, all adults entering campus during school hours must stop by the office, present a government-issued photo ID, check in, and wear a visitor badge. In a small, close-knit community like ours, wearing a badge can sometimes feel a little formal. However, consistently following the same process for everyone helps us verify who is on campus, supports student safety, and gives all families—especially those who are new to our school—greater peace of mind.
Thank you again for helping us keep Sierra Hills safe, welcoming, and friendly! If you notice someone on campus without a badge, please kindly point them toward our wonderful office staff—or let a staff member know. Checking in is quick and easy, and it helps everyone feel safe and cared for.

Before School
Tk & Kinder Students Go Directly To The Temporary Playground To Play.
Our littlest Woodsy Owls will be starting the day on the temporary playground starting Monday. Look for the helpers wearing green cowboy hats and green fedoras. They will help escort your littles to the temporary playground where the teacher's aides will monitor them until the teachers come and pick them up at 8:08. Children needing breakfast can go into the cafeteria first and then proceed to the temporary playground. The children sure enjoyed this substitute area last Thursday and Friday.
Look for our brand new banner at the front of the school this week — it’s the perfect spot for photos, so bring your kiddo by, snap the picture, and let us see those grins. We’re already emotional about it.
Here’s the story behind it: this banner was hand-painted and gifted to us by Painted By Kady out of Penryn. Every letter, every star, every little detail on the school bus — painted by hand. She donated the entire thing to our school, and she got Woodsy exactly right.
And we didn’t even know it was coming. Sierra Hills was nominated for Kady’s giveaway by our own Ashley D'ann Balibrera, who quietly rallied a bunch of you to enter and never said a word about it. That’s the kind of thing that happens around here all the time — someone sees a chance to do something nice for these kids and just… does it.
Which is honestly the whole idea behind our Skills Share form. Half the good things at this school start with one person saying “hey, I could help with that.” If you’ve got a skill, a talent, a connection, or just a Tuesday morning free — tell us. We’ll reach out when something fits. SKILL SHARE LINK
Thank you, Kady. Thank you, Ashley. Happy first day, everyone. Let’s have a great year. — with Ashley D'ann Balibrera in Meadow Vista.
