Leader In Me Curriculum Application
Leader in Me is a character development and edification improvement curriculum the school has implemented this year. The curriculum is largely based on Stephen Covey authored books "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens". We as a school have one 20 minute lesson once a week that engages our 9-12 students in the 7 habits that consist of Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand; then to be Understood, Synergize, and finally Sharpen the Saw. This year we will get through the first 4 habits and next year finish the final 3. Lessons require much self reflection on the student's part and (similar to everything) the student gets out of the lesson what they put into it. Our team leaders for Leader in Me are Mrs. Grimm, Mrs. Gomez, and Mr. Conway. Starting this week we will add our lessons of Leader in Me to the Wildcat Wire for parents to see and have talking points with their children. There is a link that better explains a little bit about each of the 7 Habits as well.
