HUSKY HIGHLIGHTS
THE PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear HCS Families,
We hope this note finds you well. We are so happy to share what a truly special evening we had at our Second Annual Art Show on Friday.
From the moment students walked through the doors, there was a joyful buzz throughout the building. Students eagerly searched for their artwork and beamed with pride as they shared it with family and friends. It was a pleasure to see groups of students gathered around the displays, lifting one another up and celebrating each otherβs work.
The creativity and care in every piece were remarkable. Each work of art reflected the unique perspective of the student who created it, and together they told the story of a year filled with growth, imagination, and exploration.
We are especially grateful to our wonderful art teachers, Rebecca Gove and Sara Elliott. Their steady encouragement and thoughtful guidance help create a space where students feel safe to take risks, try new things, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
The art show felt like more than an event. It was a gathering of our school community. Families, caregivers, and staff came together to appreciate the work of our young artists, and the pride on studentsβ faces as they shared their creations was something we will remember for a long time.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special. We feel lucky to be part of a community that shows up for one another and celebrates the many ways our students shine.
Warmly,
Tim and Alexis

THIS APRIL BREAK, CONSIDER PLANNING A BREAK FROM SCREENS
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) team supports students in grades 5-12 by promoting well-being, prevention, and healthy decision-making, and serves as a resource for both students and caregivers. As April break approaches and routines shift, we encourage families to create balance by setting small, realistic limits on screen time to help improve sleep, mood, and connection. Even short breaks from devices can make a positive difference and open up time for meaningful activities together, like screen-free meals or afternoons. Overall, the goal is not to eliminate technology, but to help young people build healthy habits, awareness, and balance over time. Here are a handful of great suggestions and strategies to take a break from screens.
