Brief Message From the Principal

Dear JES Community,

We are so proud of our 3rd through 6th grade students and teachers for completing the majority of our state assessments this week! Everyone has shown incredible effort, focus, and perseverance. With testing behind us, we’re excited to jump into the final month of school—and we’ve got some great things ahead!

One of the biggest days on our calendar is coming up soon:
5th & 6th Grade Track Meet + K-6 Field Day
Friday, April 25th, 2025
Jayhawk-Linn High School
Start Time: 8:30 AM

Our 5th and 6th grade students will begin their track and field events at 8:30 AM with field events, followed by running events around 9:30 AM. Students may participate in up to four events, and they’ve been signing up with Mr. Metcalf in preparation. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event and division.

Following their events, Field Day fun will begin for 5th and 6th graders, while grades K–4 will begin their field day events at their designated times. These activities are always a highlight for students—a great way to be active, enjoy some sunshine, and celebrate the end of the school year together!

Transportation will be provided for all students. If you plan to take your child home after the event, please be sure to notify their teacher.

All students will be responsible for bringing a sack lunch from home for this event.

Spectators are welcome—we’d love to see you cheering on our students!

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled and memory-making end to the year.
