From Doan's Desk...
Only one more week and we will already be done with the first month of the second semester. I point this out because as slow as things can feel like they are going, we will be quickly moving into new things.
In February we will be doing a “Wish Week” to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Student Council is leading this effort and will offer a week’s worth of events from Friday, February 28th through Friday, March 7th. Our school wide goal will be to see how much money we can raise to grant as many wishes as possible to the Make-A-Wish program. We want the entire community of students, parents, and staff to be on the lookout for ways that you can participate in the events or through our direct donations. So be on the lookout for details in the coming weeks about how you can help support this exciting effort.

News from BVSD
Reduce Emissions - Turn off Your Car While Waiting
BVSD buses turn off instead of idling while waiting for students. You can too! Because vehicle idling is a significant source of air pollution, BVSD has an operating procedure that prohibits buses and transportation support vehicles from idling for more than 5 minutes within any given 1 hour period.* Although it is tempting to keep cars and buses running, especially during colder weather, please turn off vehicles while waiting to pick up students. (*An exception to this is Food Service vehicles with refrigeration that need to remain on to maintain food quality).
