Electric Boat Summer Jobs - Update
The School to Career Office and the AHS Guidance Department are excited to announce that Attleboro High School will host an On-Site Interview Day on April 8th with representatives from Electric Boat (EB). AVA Seniors are invited to participate! Students will submit online their job application with EB, and then on April 8th, come to campus and meet with EB staff to interview and get a hiring decision the same day! This is an incredible option for seniors interested in entering the workforce after graduation. Please note that if a job offer is given that day, there is no obligation to take the job.
Interested students need to take 3 steps:
1. Indicate interest in participating in the On-Site Interview Day with Electric Boat by filling out this form: Electric Boat Interview Day. This form needs to be filled out no later than February 28.
2. Have an updated resume ready for the EB job application. If you do not currently have one, here is a template you can use. Please make a copy and fill in your information.
3. Apply to Electric Boat at this link: https://careers-gdeb.icims.com/jobs/17516/2026-ship-summer-high-school-intern-program/job
Bristol Community College On-Site Admission Day
AVA Seniors: are you applying to BCC? If so, this event is for you! The Guidance Dept. is bringing back Bristol Community College staff for another On-Site Admission and Financial Aid Day on April 29, 2026! Students meet with a member of the BCC Admissions staff to review their application and learn about the financial aid process. Though the event will be on AHS campus, AVA seniors are strongly encouraged to sign up and attend that day! Please sign up HERE as soon as possible because this event always fills up quickly.
Financial Aid + Scholarship Reminder
Once again, college-bound and trade-focused seniors and families should now be focusing on financial aid and scholarships. To that end, it is imperative to:
1) Complete the FAFSA (before each school's priority deadline ideally) - The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is open. Everything needed can be done 100% onilne. Class of 2026 will complete the FAFSA 2026-2027 form. Be sure to first create an FSA ID if you do not have one. Students and at least one parent must each create an individual FSA ID in order to digially sign and complete the FAFSA. Email Ms Nellie with any questions or for support.
2) Apply for Scholarships - In preparing scholarship applications, it is helpful to have a resume started. If you do not currently have one, here is a template you can use. Please make a copy and fill in your information. Attleboro Scholarship info is as follows:
2a) The Attleboro High School General Scholarship Application is now online for seniors to complete. ALL college-bound and trade-focused seniors are strongly encouraged to complete this form. Students must be logged into their APS email account to complete the application. This one application serves as the application to several different scholarships. Application deadline is March 20, 2026. If you experience any technical difficulties with the form, please contact Gina Spencer at gspencer@attleboroschools.com.
2b) The Attleboro Scholarship Foundation general application, loan application and all of their individual scholarship applications are all online this year. Their general application serves multiple scholarships, and, like above, there are separate applications for certain awards. All of these can be found on the Attleboro Scholarship Foundation website. Please note, you must create an account as a first step in the process.
As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a wonderful winter weekend!
