What's Happening at Western?
10/30/2026
Dear Western Families,
What an unforgettable week it’s been across our school community! From the start of Spirit Week straight through to today’s Halloween celebration, the energy, creativity, and school spirit shown by both our students and staff have been absolutely amazing.
Earlier in the week, we kicked things off with our themed spirit days. Everyone enjoyed rolling into school comfy and cozy for Pajama Day, seeing double (and triple!) on Multiples Day, bringing magic into the halls for Disney Day, and showing off some incredible spot-on impressions for Dress Like a Teacher Day (shoutout to my man Myles for nailing his look as me!).
Today capped off the festivities with our Halloween celebration, and the costume creativity was next-level! We had everything from Harry Potter wizards, Men in Black agents, and Michael Jackson legends to Pokémon trainers, star sports figures, and so much more.
Thank you to all the families, staff, and students who participated and brought so much joy, passion, and fun to our school this week!
Warmly,
Matthew Laskowski
Principal, Western Middle School

Neighbor to Neighbor Food Drive!
The Annual Food Drive in honor of Thanksgiving and "Caring for Self and Others" begins next week! The Food Drive will take place from Monday, November 2 until November 23 when Neighbor to Neighbor will pick up the crates of food. Every year we try to collect more items than the other two middle schools and, this year, we are confident that we can do it again!
This year, the need is greater than ever before, so be sure to send in non-expired canned fruits, canned meats, canned veggies, and canned soups. You can also bring in cereal, rice, pasta, and anything else non-perishable. The FLEX/AB pair that brings in the most canned food items will win a pizza party for their FLEX/AB pair. If you would rather donate to the food pantry online, you can use our link here. Any questions, please email Mrs. Kolar at johanna_kolar@greenwich.k12.ct.us
