All things Attendance
Whether you call it Paw Patrol or PickUp Patrol, we’re on the same team! 🐾😄
Attendance & Dismissal Updates: No more phone calls, paper notes, or emails!
Now that the school year is underway, we’d like to remind families that PickUp Patrol is our primary tool for sharing important daily information.
Parents should use PickUp Patrol to report:
-
Absences
-
Late arrivals
-
Any changes to dismissal plans
Using PickUp Patrol ensures that the school office, your child’s teacher, the health office, and the dismissal team all have the same up-to-date information each day. Families can access PickUp Patrol through the mobile app or the website dashboard.
Lunch & Recess Considerations for Early Pick-Ups
Early Dismissals & Scheduling Reminder
If you need to dismiss your child early, please keep in mind that lunch and recess times may affect how smoothly we are able to bring your student to the office. Planning pick-ups outside of those times whenever possible helps ensure a smoother transition.
Below is a list of lunch times to help with planning and not that recess generally follows lunch:
-
Kindergarten: 11:30 - 11:55
-
Grade 1: 11:15 - 11:45
-
Grade 2: 11:45 - 12:15
-
Grade 3: 12:00 - 12:25
-
Grade 4: 12:15 - 12:40
Grade 5: 12:30 - 12:55

Bus Update
Morning Bus Routes
We want to let you know that our buses will begin adjusting their morning schedules slightly in order to better manage traffic and ensure timely arrival at school. Bus 17 will definitely begin arriving earlier, up to 5 minutes earlier once the adjustments are complete. Other buses will also be working to start their routes a few minutes earlier as well. These changes will be introduced gradually over the next several days, so please plan accordingly.
Road closures beginning in early October
In addition, there are upcoming road closures beginning in early October that will affect some of our routes. Our Central Office is currently gathering the necessary details, and we will share more information with families later this week to help everyone prepare for these changes.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our transportation running smoothly.

PTO News
Hello Parents,
We hope everyone has had a great start to the school year!
The Lancaster PTO is looking for members and volunteers to help with school activities and fundraisers! You do not need to attend meetings to be a member or volunteer. Please submit your information here: PTO Sign Up Form
We are also working on a by class student directory to assist with play dates and birthday parties. Below is the link which includes families that provided their information last year. We are asking existing families to update your child's teacher (column B highlighted in yellow). New families can add their information to the bottom of the sheet. Student Directory
Thank you!

Forgot Something?
A cart will be located outside the MRE office door—please place the item(s) there.
Be sure your child’s name is clearly marked (note cards are available if needed).
Teachers will be notified by email when an item is dropped off, and students can pick it up during a natural break in their day.
Great practice for students in flexibility and responsibility
Here are a few common examples:
-
Forgot a water bottle? No problem—water is always available for students.
-
Library books? They can be returned at a later time. Students will still preview books during library and simply turn them back in at the end.
-
Homework? It can be brought in the next day.
Thank you for helping our students build adaptability while also minimizing classroom disruptions.

Looking for Volunteers!
After 18 days of school, our Lost & Found has filled quickly. I am looking for a volunteer (or multiple) to come in every few weeks and organize the items so that students can find them easier. Please email jfrommer@nrsd.net if you are interested in helping.
