Azalea Elementary
100% Student Success
Mission:
Attendance + Attitude + Academics = Excellence and Empowerment for College, Career, and Life
Dear Azalea Families,
The PTA will be in the courtyard collecting Papa John fundraiser forms and money the following dates: Sept 29, 30 and Oct 1st from 8:15 - 8:55.
Our PTA has kicked off the Nifty 50 Papa John’s Fundraiser, and we’d love your support! The fundraiser ends September 30, 2025.
Here’s how it works:
-
Families pre-sell Papa John’s Fundraising Cards for $15 each.
-
The school keeps $10 from every card sold—a great way to directly support our students and programs!
-
Each card comes with a unique online-only promo code that gives you 50% off 18 menu-priced online pizza orders before the expiration date.
This is a simple and delicious way to support our school while saving on pizza nights with your family!
Thank you for helping our PTA make this fundraiser a success. Together, we can make a big difference for our students.
Mrs. Moody

Rainy Day Dismissal Plan (Repeat)
Thank you for your patience with our second rainy-day dismissal. Due to safety concerns, will adjust dismissal procedures for heavy rain, thunder and lightning. Students are brought to a central location and called to cars as parents arrive. If your child is a bike rider consider what plan you would like for them to follow on rainy days and let the teacher know. Your assistance is appreciated.

Azalea Parent Handbook 2025-2026
As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we kindly ask all parents and guardians to take a few moments to read through the Azalea Elementary Parent Handbook. The handbook provides important information about school policies, procedures, expectations, and ways we can partner together for a successful year. The uniform chart was added on 8/3/25.

FOCUS

We want to share an important update regarding how we will be communicating with you during the upcoming school year.
As of the 2025-2026 school year, ClassDojo is no longer an approved communication tool for Pinellas County Schools. Moving forward Azalea Elementary will use FOCUS as the official platform for school-to-home communication.
We understand that many families have become familiar with ClassDojo, and we know this change may take some getting used to. Please know that we are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible. Our staff will be receiving training to ensure they are fully prepared to use FOCUS effectively and consistently.
We have included information below on how families can access and use FOCUS to stay informed about their child’s progress, classroom updates, and important school news. Thank you for your support and understanding as we make this transition together.

Safety
Our students and staff did a great job responding to the fire alarm on 9/8/25.
The district utilizes FortifyFL, a school-related suspicious activity reporting tool that allows Florida students and the community the ability to instantly relay information anonymously concerning unsafe, potentially harmful, dangerous, violent or criminal activities, or the threat of these activities, to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials. FortifyFL was created and funded by the 2018 Florida Legislature as part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act.

Pinellas County Schools has partnered with Sandy Hook Promise to offer the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System. Say Something allows you to submit secure & anonymous safety concerns to help identify and intervene upon at-risk individuals BEFORE they hurt themselves or others. Tips made to the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System are passed along to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.
