The Weekly Bugle
THE BUGLE
FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 26, 2026
October Students of the Month
We are excited to share that each month we recognize students who demonstrate exceptional performance, character, and behavior that reflect our school’s PRIDE values. These students go above and beyond in areas such as leadership, kindness, responsibility, and perseverance.
Teachers nominate students based on specific examples of their positive actions and contributions in the classroom and school community.
Congratulations to our students recognized this month — we are so proud of their hard work and dedication!
Be On The Lookout
If you couldn't make it to our Parent Teacher Conferences recently, we will be sending home your child's report card and NM-MSSA test scores this week.

Pojoaque Education Foundation - Elk Rack
The Pojoaque Education Foundation is excited to launch a new community apparel resource, the
“Elk Rack,” in January 2027. This initiative is intended to provide a welcoming and accessible
resource for members of our school community who may benefit from clothing and apparel.
The information and feedback collected will help the Foundation better understand community needs, prepare appropriate resources, and support the successful launch of the Elk Rack.
Thank you for supporting this exciting new resource for our PVSD community!
PRIDE CART
Celebrating Our Students with PRIDE!
At SGA/PVMS, we are proud to recognize students who demonstrate our PRIDE traits each day:
P – Prepared
R – Respectful
I – In class on time
D – Doing your work
E – Expecting to succeed
Our PRIDE program supports our district’s Portrait of a Graduate, one of our district’s strategic goals, by recognizing and encouraging the positive behaviors and habits that help students succeed.
Each month, students can redeem their Elk Bucks at our PRIDE Cart for a small incentive or prize.
This is something worth celebrating! It shows how many of our students are making positive choices, demonstrating PRIDE, and working hard to be successful. We are so grateful that you trust us with your children, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students are growing and representing our school community.
🛒 Help Us Keep the PRIDE Cart Stocked!
With so many students demonstrating PRIDE, our supply of incentives is getting low! If you are able to donate small prizes or items for our PRIDE Cart, we would greatly appreciate your support.
If you would like to donate, please contact:
Mrs. Lovato at tcl@pvs.k12.nm.us
Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage our students! Together, we can continue to build a school community where students are recognized for doing the right things and taking PRIDE in themselves and their school. 🦌💚

BLANKETS AT SCHOOL
🧥 A Quick Reminder About Blankets & Cold Weather
As the mornings begin to get cooler, we have noticed some students bringing blankets to school. Please remember that blankets are not permitted at school, as they are not appropriate for the school setting.
If your child needs a jacket or hoodie to stay warm at school, we are happy to help! Please reach out to our counselors, Ms. Denise Jaramillo or Ms. Elena Torres, and we will work with you to help ensure your child has appropriate warm clothing.
Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe, comfortable, and appropriate for learning!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- Outside food and drinks are not permitted at school. Students may bring water and nutritious snacks.
- Your child is required to wear their school ID at all times. If the ID is lost or forgotten, the replacement fee is $5.00.
For your child’s safety, please do not drop them off before 6:45 a.m., as there is no supervision prior to that time.
Our school day is 7:30 - 3:30. If you drop off your child after 7:30, please sign them in at the front office.
When you need to get a message to your child about bus or parent pick up changes, please call before 3:00 pm to ensure the message gets to them in a timely manner.
For the safety of all students and staff, please pick up your child only in the designated student pickup/drop-off area and remain in the vehicle line. Do not exit your vehicle during pickup.
If you need to come onto campus for any reason, all adults are required to sign in at the front office before proceeding.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) & Services
Our Social-Emotional Learning is an important part of our work and we offer access to a variety of supportive programs:
- Envision Your Future (EYF)
- Resolve NM
- Santa Fe County DWI Program
- Breaking the Silence
- Big Brothers Big Sisters
- TOPs Program
- Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program
- Counseling Services (provided by our two counselors and referrals to Las Clinicas Del Norte)
The Santa Fe County DWI Program is currently working with our 8th-grade students through their Science classes every Monday.
The DWI Program is also working with our 6th-grade students through their Science classes every Thursday.
The Santa Fe County DWI Program provides evidence-based prevention services for children and adults in the community. All prevention services are targeted to address substance use and risky behaviors, such as drinking and driving. The goal of their prevention efforts is to challenge societal norms around alcohol consumption, encourage behavioral change, increase protective factors, provide education on substance use and provide access to relevant services for community members. This service is offered once a week for the whole school year.
