Message from Nicole Pease, Principal Teacher at DCS
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2024! This has been one of the most fun weeks of the year so far. We started the week with the Holiday Shoppe. Students were so thoughtful as they looked at all the times and made their selections for their family members. Thursday morning was so lovely, with all the lovely art creation stations! Staff Member Vicki Brown organizes numerous crafts for students to make and take home. This is a beloved tradition and we so appreciate all the effort that goes into the event. This morning the whole school participated in the candy cane walk! Staff hang up candy canes on the path to Yankee Field. Students walk in the woods and seek out the candy canes. This year, Deb Lang added a new twist to this adventure. We had a story that has been placed in the woods, page by page. We stopped at each page and Deb read the story to us. It was a sweet addition to the "sweet" walk. The pages will be in the woods for a short time so please enjoy if you are able. When we returned students put the cranberry popcorn strings on the bush outside for the wild creatures to enjoy! I hope you all have a wonderful end to 2024, enjoy your holiday season, and see you in 2025!
2 school buses starting in January
We will need to make some adjustments to our drop offs to accommodate 2 school buses. I am going to ask that parents that drop off pull up to the top of the playground walkway and drop of their student(s). This will help ensure we do not have a bottleneck in the driveway. We will continue to ask that if you are dropping your student off and you see the bus behind you, please pull ahead and let the bus pull forward. Thank you for your help!!
Kids sized snowshoes anyone?
If you happen to have kid sized snowshoes, we are looking for 2 or 3 more pairs for some snowshoe adventures. We would appreciate any donations!

Message from the School Nurse
A message from Pam Murphy, RN DCS School Nurse
Recently, there have been numerous student requests for cough drops. As cough drops are considered medication, I am asking for your help in following the ConVal policy on medication administration at the elementary level. To do this, any medication, including cough drops, must be delivered to the school by a parent/guardian or their designated responsible adult in the original container. A written permission form is also required which is available at DCS.
Please reach out to me at pmurphy@conval.edu if you have any questions.
DCS Gear
If you are interested in ordering some DCS swag for your student(s), please use this link. We will be providing new students with a DCS T-in the near future. https://dublinravens.deco-apparel.com/
