Summit Hill Elementary
October - Fly on the Wall
Message from Principal Aronow
Happy (almost) October, Summit Hill Families! 🍂
We’re excited about all the opportunities this season brings for learning, growth, and reaching our full potential.
This month, we begin our MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) meetings. MTSS is a way we ensure every child gets exactly what they need, whether that’s enrichment to stretch their learning or extra support to close gaps. Our team will use MAP testing scores and IXL progress monitoring to guide instruction and make individualized plans for each student.
Parents will be invited to MTSS meetings and informed every step of the way, because your involvement is key to student success. I want to encourage parental involvement during this process because together, we’ll make sure your child is supported and celebrated.
I hope everyone had a blessed September! As always, if you have any questions, please reach out at 903-745-4100 or at Aronow.Rebecca@HoweISD.net. We are committed to working hard for your child and believe deeply in their potential. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey of growth!
Warm regards,
Rebecca Aronow

MTSS: Multi-Tiered System of Supports
What is MTSS?
MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) is a framework that helps us meet the needs of every student. We use data like NWEA MAP scores and IXL progress to see where students are thriving and where they may need extra support. MTSS ensures your child receives the right instruction—whether it’s enrichment to go further or additional help to close learning gaps. Parent partnership is key, and you’ll be included in the process every step of the way!
A framework to help every child reach their full potential.
🔹 Uses Data: MAP testing + IXL progress
🔹 Individualized Support: Enrichment or Intervention as needed
🔹 Team Approach: Teachers + Parents working together
🔹 Family Involvement: Parents are invited and informed every step of the way
