November Family Night @ Head Start Center #1

Our November Family Night at Head Start Center #1 was so much FUN! We made stress balls, made faces with playdough, worked on breathing techniques to help calm down, made sensory bags and more!

4K in December

We've had a beautiful November; warmer than most! I was just able to walk along the beaches of the North Shore just last weekend and didn't freeze! That doesn't happen most years. But, the colder weather will arrive. So, make sure you're prepared to send snow pants, boots, winter jackets, hats and mittens when the time comes. Remember we bring kids outside every day in 4K and if your child stays for wrap, they go outside multiple times throughout the day. Also... please write your child's name or initials on everything.

December brings family days in preschool, concerts and holiday events! Some classes will be making gingerbread houses, others will be making stone soup, and others had families join in their fun classrooms activities already in November to see what it's like to be a preschooler! I hope you're able to join in the family days when your classroom has them!

Bryant and Four Corners are featured this month!

Bryant 4K with Mrs. Oswskey

We are having a fun year so far in 4K at Bryant! The class has enjoyed playing together and making new friends. We are working on taking turns while playing games, going to the library, learning self help skills, and a lot of social/emotional skills such as identifying feelings and using a respectful voice when talking to others. We have enjoyed reading books with each other, building ramps and sensory exploration with playdough, sand and other materials. We are looking forward to more learning and growing during the rest of the year!

4K at Four Corners with Mrs. Oswskey

We are having a fun year so far in 4K at Four Corners! The class has enjoyed playing together and making new friends. We are working on taking turns while playing games, going to the library, learning self help skills, and a lot of social/emotional skills such as identifying feelings and using a respectful voice when talking to others. We have enjoyed reading books with each other, painting, playing in dramatic play and sensory exploration with playdough, sand and other materials. We are looking forward to more learning and growing during the rest of the year!

4K at YMCA with Mrs. Ells

This month has been full of exploration; pumpkins, leaves and noticing the changes in weather. We have learned the letters E, F, and L. When practicing at home, please use capital letters :) We are working on recognizing our names and writing them, the class is doing great!

We have learned that the number one is made with one BIG line, the number two is a big line and a big curve! Play is important! We have kitchen dramatic play as well as dress up dramatic play. Pencil grip and scissor grip has been an area of focus, encourage this at home!
