A Message from Principal Woofter
We are entering the busiest time of year! There are many exciting events and activities that will be coming up from now until the end of the school year.
Next week, we will be showing our appreciation to all the volunteers who support Archer Glen! The time and effort that our volunteers contribute is incredibly valuable to students, teachers, and staff and we are truly thankful for the support we receive from so many. Please stop by next week to enjoy special treats and messages of thanks!
Speaking of next week, there are a lot of exciting things happening! Our winning OBOB team will be attending the Board meeting on Monday to share their OBOB experience with the School Board members. We will have our second annual Archer Glen International Culture Night on Tuesday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. This is a special event that allows us to learn about the different cultures represented by families within our school. On Wednesday, our 2nd grade students will be sharing their spring concert with family and guests which is sure to be fantastic. With all the excitement of the week, check out our PAC Dine Out at Panda Express on Wednesday! There are several other activities happening next week, so be sure to read all about them throughout the newsletter.
Carnival Pre-Sale tickets go on sale Friday, April 10. Information will be coming home in Friday folders!
Mark your calendars now: On May 7th and 8th, we will be hosting spring conferences at Archer Glen. Sign-ups will be coming home on the afternoon of April 24th, so please check your email/ParentSquare account then for more information. These days will be no school days for our students, and all families will have the opportunity to sign up for a time to meet with me. Some families take the long weekend for vacations during these days, but please be aware that we do not schedule formal conference make-ups outside of the days set aside for this purpose. Thank you for understanding.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at one of the events coming up in the next few weeks! Have a great weekend!
Kindly,
Sarah

New! Oregon's SEED Survey Coming Soon
Starting April 20 and continuing through May, Sherwood schools will administer the Student Educational Equity Development (SEED) Survey to students in grades 3-11, as required by Oregon law. This survey, from the Oregon Department of Education (ODE), gathers student feedback on their educational experiences to help improve support for schools and students statewide. The survey covers topics like academic opportunities, access to resources, and connection to school. It takes 10-20 minutes to complete.
Parents/guardians can decline their student’s participation. Students can also decline to participate by selecting the “I will not take this survey” option at the beginning of the survey, or they can skip any or all individual survey questions. For more information, including the survey in its entirety, please visit the ODE’s SEED Survey website. To access the opt-out form, please see the links below.

Volunteer Background Checks
The District welcomes volunteers into our school buildings. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.
