From the Principal
Hello,
We've had our first high school football and volleyball games. The cheerleaders hosted Kiddy Cheer Camp. The band marched! Teachers are making goals to ensure each classroom is a positive learning environment. In other words, it's another great week in the books at Bluestem Jr./Sr. High!
Our mission at Bluestem is to "Create hope and success in every child". Hope and future are two concepts that naturally go together. Our counseling department is all about students' futures. I am so grateful for Elizabeth Hamblin and Kasie Kieffer. They have compiled an amazing amount of resources to help students navigate their education now through post-high school. Check out the counseling page linked below for resources whether your student is a seventh grader or a senior. We work really hard to help them succeed here and in their future.
This week, the counseling department also hosted an assembly titled, "Think Before You Post". This was a great reminder to adults and students of how online actions can affect one's future and reputation. This includes social media posts and sharing of content. Feel free to ask your kids about the assembly. It may be a perfect opportunity for a heartfelt conversation about an incredibly timely topic.

Thanks for all you do for our schools and our student's success,
Beth Janssen
