Returning Student Registration ends this Friday, May 15th
As we prepare for the upcoming school year it is important that you register your children as soon as possible. This is separate from fees which will be added to Pushcoin on July 1st.
If you are moving within or out of the district please give the office a call at 331-228-6900 or email diane.eageny@d303.org
Playground Fence
Many of you may have noticed the work being done on our playground. Last week we had contractors start installing a fence around our playground. The fence is being added for various safety reasons, the biggest one being our closeness to MacDonald Road. This project has been in the works for quite some time and should be completed over the weekend. The plan is for the gates to be left open unless school is in session, so the community will have access to the playground outside of school hours. We are excited to have this added layer of security for our students.

Community Message from Dr. Gordon
I wanted to bring your attention to a message that was sent out by our superintendent last week.
There have been many instances of students using racist language throughout our district. Sadly, this also includes Corron. Dr. Gordon’s message is a call to action to the community to educate our students on the impact of racist and discriminatory language. This includes teaching our students to speak up when they hear other students using racist language. Please talk to your child about the impact of the words they use and letting an adult know when they hear other students using this language. Unfortunately, we have had to talk to multiple students this year specifically about the use of the “N” word as well as other shocking language. It has typically been because another student knew how wrong it was and they brought it to the attention of an adult. These are conversations that we need to be having frequently with our children at home and at school.

A note from the School Nurse
Preventative measures remain the most effective way to reduce the spread of influenza and other viral illnesses. Please review healthy hygiene habits with your student, such as hand washing and keeping hands away from their nose/mouth while at school.
Absences from School
Report all absences to the attendance line. Please provide reason for absences and whether or not your child has a communicable or contagious illness.
Keep a child home from school when:
• Your child has had a fever of 100 degrees F or more within the past 24 hours
• Your child has had vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
• Your child has an unexplained rash, sore or pink eyes with a discharge
• Your child has a persistent, productive cough
** Your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without medication
** If a bacterial infection has been diagnosed, your child must have 24 hours of antibiotics before returning to school
** If your child has not fully recovered or remained home for the recommended length of time, parents may be contacted and asked to take the child home.
Extended Absences: Extended absences of 5 or more days may require that the student present a doctor's statement of re-admittance to the school nurse. For further information on childhood illnesses and diseases please go to Health Information on the D303 website, or contact your school nurse directly at: cor-nurses@d303.org
Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon shared an update this week on the School Board’s discussion of the Final Report submitted by the D303 Communitywide Education Facilities Committee.
D303 launched a communitywide Facilities Survey this week. As the Board considers potential facilities investments, we want input from all community members on this key question: What do you want your schools to look like and do for our students over the next 30 years?
And to help the community understand the current state of D303 facilities, Dr. Gordon shared a video recap of the Facilities Committee’s work and findings. Please take a little bit of time to watch the video and make your voice heard by taking the survey!
Read Dr. Gordon’s full message here.
The latest episode of the Voices of D303 podcast includes visits to Wild Rose Elementary School and North High School, to give the community a firsthand look at facilities challenges faced every day by D303 students, staff, and families. Check out this clip with North High School Athletic Director Joe Benoit.
