Quarter 1 Report Cards and Looking Ahead

Today marks the release of our Quarter 1 report cards. Report cards are now available digitally through Parent Portal, and detailed instructions for accessing them are included in this newsletter.

As you review grades with your child, take a few moments to celebrate their successes, whether it’s a strong academic performance, improvement in a specific subject, or positive growth in effort and responsibility. These wins matter and deserve recognition.

After celebrating, help your child set a few clear, achievable goals for the second quarter. Encourage them to reflect on what worked well during Quarter 1 and what adjustments they can make to stay organized, manage time, or seek help when needed. A good approach is to focus on SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound).

Our theme this month in Positive You is clarity, and setting focused goals is a great way to put that into action. Let’s work together to help our students move forward with confidence and purpose as we begin Quarter 2!

Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda

Last week I rolled out November's tip of the month: Know your child's friends' and teachers' names. It might be a lot to keep track of, but simply having the conversation with your child will demonstrate your interest in what's going on in their day-to-day life. When your child knows you're interested, they feel supported and often engage more effectively both academically and socially.

Our Boys Basketball teams got started this week. Games will begin the week before Thanksgiving; our first home game is Wednesday, December 3rd.

Our second card marking began last Monday. Remember, if you see an abnormally low grade this early in the card marking, it might be the result of one missing assignment. Mathematically, that missing assignment might account for the majority (or all) of the child's current grade. If you see a missing assignment, encourage your child to contact their teacher to arrange to make up the assignment.

Happy Halloween from Carter! Happy Halloween from Carter!
