Math-In math we will be adding and subtracting fractions.

Social Studies-Next week we will learn about heat as a form of energy and human uses of energy. While learning about energy uses, we will learn about renewable and non-renewable resources. We will have a test over this unit. It is tentatively set for Wednesday, February 7th.

Reading-In Reading, the students will finish up Unit 2 and then begin a new unit. Their first story is Riding Freedom. The skill that will be focused on is compare and contrast.

In 4th grade, it is tradition to have a Valentine Box Contest! Each class will have 4 winners. Students may choose to decorate a box for one of the following categories: Most Creative, Sportiest, Most Lovey Dovey/Prettiest, and Funniest.

The kids from each class, as well as some other faculty and staff, will come down and vote on the boxes and the winner from each category will be announced at the end of the day!

When your child is absent for any reason, all assignments for the day will be posted on google classroom. The student will need to go to each google classroom for each core subject (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science) and complete the assignment for that day. They get one day to complete the assignment per day they are absent. For example, if they are absent on a Monday, their work is due on a Wednesday. If your child is absent and cannot access google classroom, please send us an email so we can get copies made for them. If you have questions about this process, just let us know.
